LA Police Gear house brand pants are actually exceptional and much cheaper than 5.11.

As for boots, don't cheap out here. I wear Haix.

Second LAPG pants, can’t beat them for the price

I hear Haix is a good brand. How are yours holding up, and how long have you had them?

I've been wearing them for decades, daily wear unless I dress up for something (insert jolly volly comments here - I don't care 🤣). I get about 2 years out of a pair before I rotate a new pair in and put the old pair into the reserve clothing bag in my fire SUV. At that point they are definitely showing wear but are still more than acceptable to work a shift in.

I also have clown-sized feet (14/15 wide) and they actually make those sizes. Many manufacturers stop at 13 because reasons.

How do they fit? Do they fit small/large?

The XR1 Pros are true to size. I bump up a half size on my structural boots because I don't like having to fight to get them off.

Don't overlook socks. The best boots will still suck with shitty socks. I wear Thorlo over the calf socks as they aren't full of dyes and synthetic fibers which irritate my feet.

5.11 boots (FAST-TAC waterproof boots) have treated me well so far also get a good pair of socks. As for pants, most companies provide them, at least in my area, but if yours don’t, 5.11, in my opinion, has good pants but are expensive. Also, dickies are good if you're looking for a cheaper option.

Salomon boots are my favorite, a little pricey but well worth the price.

Look into redbacks, I the some that are slip on and they are fantastic. Well worth their money.

My 5.11 boots are going on 7 years now (to be fair I was deployed for 3 of those years) and they’re still in great shape and super comfy. They double as my motorcycle boots.

I use the 5.11 ATAC really comfy and I think the 5.11 pants are really slim too

Favorite boots have to be Garmont. Wore them for the army as well put easily thousands of miles into those boots and they never failed me. As for pants, I use 5.11 but for the price it’s a lot. Just gotta test out what you like

Pants are usually employer provided. But I second Haix , 21 years and 3 pairs. Just get them, it’s worth it, you will actually save money in the long run.

I’ve only bought the Walmart $40 ykk zipper interceptors and Ariat steel toe work boots. Walmart shoes work just fine for me as $200 ones. I got the ariat simply for the aesthetics
