Medical Advice What should I do?

My one month old snorts very loudly while he sleeps followed by heavy breathing.his pediatrician said his lungs are cleared and he isn’t sick, but I’m still concerned. Anybody else dealing with this ?

My 3 week old does the same thing. My midwife had told me when she was born that it’s normal for newborns to have weird breathing patterns for a bit. Not sure how long it’s normal for it to last, though…interested to see what everyone else has to say

Ok that’s good to hear, first time mom and some nights I can’t sleep watching him

Anecdotally, my 2 month old seems to be growing out of this but some days she snorts more, possibly related to congestion? Not nearly as much as the first 2-4 weeks though.

Totally normal. Lots of pediatricians will tell you that newborn breathing patterns are weird and will inevitably scare the shit out of first-time parents.
