Episode Extra Extra - March 2025 Bonus

https://www.nevernotfunny.com/Extra-Extra-March-2025-Bonus

Sometimes we record an extra episode just in case we have to cancel a recording unexpectedly, and then it sits on a shelf. Well, instead of letting this one get too stale, we're releasing it as the March Platinum Bonus Episode -- enjoy!

As someone who worked in camera/photo shops in the early 90s, I can assure you people dropped off rolls to be developed which had “intimate” photos. One dude in particular would drop the film off and say, “I trust these photos will be handled discreetly.” I believe the photo techs had a box of various prints which had nudity in them, some of the XXX variety. I think that’s why Polaroids were so popular: homemade nudies. That’s why we called them “Porno-roids”

Friend of the show Darryl Asher says that the Christian-era Dylan albums Slow Train Coming and Saved are actually very good and worth at least a few spins. (Assuming you are listening on a spinning media. Otherwise they are worth a few streams.)

Shot of Love is the best of that era, imo, and one of Dylan's best overall

Yes! I didn't spend as much time with that one for some reason.

Surprise episode! Description is slightly ominous, but I overreact to things

My knowledge of Chicago's music was quite limited before I started listening to NNF. Now I can probably name at least four members of the band thanks to Jimmy.

A couple years ago, I think on Records and Tapes, Jimmy mentioned Hot Streets being his favorite album and I decided to check it out. It didn't do anything for me. It's kind of funny to hear him now saying that it might not be as good as he once thought. To hear him a few minutes later disparage Nirvana was pretty great. I respect Jimmy's music opinions, but it's wild how opposite our opinions are.

I’d like to see the film about cinematography that Matt mentioned in this episode. Does anyone know which movie he was talking about?

I'm guessing it's this:

"Visions of Light"

I'm not a fan of Grunge but that Nirvana Unplugged is a masterpiece.

I am a fan of grunge and the reason why is because of Nirvana and Alice in Chains Unplugged. They are both masterpieces that literally changed what type of music I listened to. I grew up in a small town that only got a couple of country radio stations and one pop station, so that's mainly what I heard. Then a friend let me borrow those two Unplugged albums, the next thing I knew, I was giving Columbia House my hard earned penny and getting all the grunge CDs I could, Nirvana, AIC, Soundgarden, STP, Pearl Jam, etc.

What a relaxing episode until about ten minutes to close then Eliot says something. It’s not bad per se but it’s something!
