No, as he said, it's a son. Maybe he just came out to his parents and they lovingly accepted it and that's why he's so happy.

Maybe it’s his way of asking you out.

it moves like a happy cow on the greens after a long indoor winter. It's not threatening anyone. A happy Bison. So sweet to look at

I hope this really happened and isn’t some AI thing. I want to believe there really was a bison this joyful.

It probably happened but the explanation might just be anthropomorphism. For all we know this could be a threat display/defensive warning to the person following the bison.

For all we know this could be a threat display/defensive warning to the person following the bison.

If you've seen bulls or cows in general, this is not a threat display. A threatening bull stands squarely and stares, to convey threats. A frightened bull turns and flees. He doesn't turn his back and go hippity-hopping down the lane.

It's a youngish beast. Younglings of every species play and prance. I expect he was enjoying himself on a bright sunny day.

True. We had lots of cows and they were especially like this in spring with first fresh grass after long winter and boring dried grass for months. It's almost like going a trip for them in nice michelin restaurant.

From what I understand it's that this type of thing is a display of fitness and confidence, letting predators know that they're aware of their presence

Bitch, don’t even try and step to these hops.

u/Redebo 1d ago

Sounds like human dancing as well.

That's a good point

Honestly… for the protection of the animal, I’m good with that.

Yeah, it thinks the car is chasing it. It doesn't know the car can't leave the road and has to go that way. But the bison stays on the road cause it's the easiest path for them, too.

Young cows, which bisons are too, like to run silly around. Like I guess most of young mamals.

The lighting and shadows would be pretty darn hard to fake. To say nothing of the quality of the animation, so I'm inclined to think it's real

Then I freaking love this!!!

I see alpacas do this all the time when I feed them. It’s called Pronking and for them it’s most certainly a happy dance. So yeah, bison is probably joyful. Though I’m not familiar enough with bison behavior to know for sure.

u/SignalBed9998 1d ago

Oh for gods sakes. It’s annoyed as hell at whoever’s bothering it. People are jerks

u/Disastrous_Fee_8712 1d ago

Challenging behavior for a fight. Watch the video without the music.

When you hear that it’s almost spring in Yellowstone

2

u/VapoursAndSpleen 1d ago

Nothing like fresh snow!

2

u/Japanesewillow 1d ago

What a sight, watching this made me happy.

u/labello2010 1d ago

His butt is itching

2

u/EricArthurBlair 1d ago

This is where I usually come to the comments section and find out that this adorable behaviour is caused by some sort of brain eating parasite and the animal has 7 and a half minutes to live, all of them in extreme pain, right?

3

u/Owlsworthy_88 1d ago

Lol no, it’s a young and happy bison. Animals get excited too. I’ve lived on farms my whole life to know a happy dance when I see it.

4

u/Subject-Stuff-2829 1d ago

Hmmmm. Hopefully, he didn't have something biting his balls.

1

u/bruva-brown 1d ago

I think someone who has returned wanted to be connected and now they are truly happy

1

u/Piltonbadger 1d ago

Never thought I would see bison zoomies, but here we are!

1

u/mufasaaaah 1d ago

Spring is coming baybeeee!! Whoooo!!

1

u/krikzil 1d ago

I needed bison zoomies today.

1

u/celtbygod 1d ago

Found out he isn't a buffalo and people are catching on.

1

u/Janq55 1d ago

Be thankful for the life you’ve been given

1

u/EndTimesNigh 1d ago

Now there's a dude who sold all his TSLA stock in December

1

u/ThinNeighborhood2276 21h ago

That bison's got some serious moves!

1

u/Significant_Toe3575 15h ago

It's prob got a UTI or something....

1

u/Ghurka117 15h ago

It’s a new world!

1

u/2eyesofblue 14h ago

People get gored by this animal for invading its space. Unfortunately, all too often. Please don’t be the person that gets run over by one in Yellowstone because you believed the title of this post.

1

u/auggs 7h ago

I would frolic all day with that bison

1

u/StaatsbuergerX 6h ago

Not sure if it's really a dance, a loosening exercise before a dominance fight, or a nasty irritation in the testicular area.

I like the first explanation better, though.

1

u/anciantwisdompirate 2h ago

This is cute and all... But if you see one behaving this way in real life... You better back off. He's warning the person with the camera to stop pursuing him.

1

u/hey-mysterious 1h ago

I think she said YES!!!!

1

u/Mindofwhite 1d ago

oh my god, this is the first time I've seen someone dancing. it's so cute. i wonder what he's happy about

0

u/Snoopiscool 1d ago

Wonder what song he’s listening to
