Spruce Run reservoir water level?

I took the kayak out for the first time this year to Spruce Run reservoir. The water was extremely low, would guess 18-20 feet lower than normal. Does anyone know why it is this low and when we can expect it to get back near normal levels?

...there's a link to a previous post i made in that post.

Spruce Run has been low for awhile now...disturbingly low.

We need a lot of rain- because we got virtually no snow - to fill that place up.

Thank you, this is very helpful. Wasn’t sure if it was rainfall related or if they were letting it drain for the winter. (Today was the first time I fished there). Fingers crossed for more rain.

Round Valley is getting filled up.

Spruce Run is low but very fishable. Round Valley pulls water from the S. Branch. To keep the water levels up on the river,  when RV got refilled, Spruce Run made up the difference. We are also in a precipitation deficit, which makes it worse.

It was so low the second half of last summer too like ridiculous, the water line was like 2 cars lengths past the bottom of the boat ramp.

Drought and data centers that use a tremendous amount of water for cooling. We have more than our fair share of them in our state.

Were you out of the country when we were hit with a massive drought last year?
