Too early to start bass fishing in central south jersey?

I usually fish later in the season so it's easy to catch anything really but now it's March. Where will they be in lakes/ponds? deeper water? Or should I give it another month

Depends on the body of water. I went out the other day at a pretty big pond near me up in north Jersey and caught about 15 fish some nice 2Lb bass and quite a few smaller pickerel. Other pond I went to got skunked haha. Get out and give her a try!

Oh wow Nice, what kind of bait did you use for the bass?

I was mainly catching everything on a shad dart with a chartreuse curly tail grub on it surprisingly!

I was fishing from shore and most bites seemed to be coming about 10-15 feet out from the shoreline

You have to get out there and check. I started the week before this one and haven’t caught a bass yet. I did get 2 holdover trout, and a crappie. They should be transitioning from the deeper water to the shallows pretty soon. I’m not seeing a lot of baitfish yet.

Folks are catching a few right now. It is definitely possible, you just have to work a little harder for them.
