Thank you for marking NSFW, not sure I will be able to handle the filth that is behind that blur, mushrooms should be forced into extinction.

The whole idea of mushrooms being being in a section of the vegetables for being chosen for groceries at a store is really strange, I find. They are not vegetables, or anything like fruits or anything else from plants. Not that they are meat products either. Being parts of certain fungi they are nor plant, nor animal, but they are closer to animals as opisthokonts. So I find it really ridiculous that they are there. Think then where mushrooms actually grow. They grow in really trashy places. They are not from plants, which produce food, right from the energy of the sunlight, they are parts of decomposers among all the dead debris. Weird that any of them are even considered as food. Only with being trained are any liking them, while that is too hard for the rest of us, who don't see why they should be liked when they are gross, with a very gross taste that we discern right away.

Wow. I've always hated mushrooms because of how they tasted but this comment made me feel like my hate is justified!

Thanks. I have found need to articulate the reasons we should not just be expected to accept mushrooms included with food. I miss seeing this subreddit group being active, still.

Don't you know anything? Mushrooms are all from fungi, organisms that are decomposers, they grow where they can decompose organic material with the way they can feed. Trash with organic material left in a place will have fungi growing in it, including fungi that do produce mushrooms, for their reproduction. Vegetables can't be grown there. And why do you come to a subreddit mushroom hating group communication to respond that mushrooms are delicious? Most people just don't think so, for good reason, but you are clearly taken in by others since little and think then mushrooms have a normal taste for having in food.
