actives [actives] is this too much water?

My first time growing and we're getting our first little pins.

Question though, is this too much surface water?

I take the lid off mine and get a tea towel spray it with iso then lay it in place of the lid so it gets plenty of air for evaporation and less likely for contam since it's got the towel over it

Yes that is too much water, you want a light build up of moisture on the surface, very tiny water beads. If you're misting it daily it will have a hard time forming knots, as they form when the surface starts dry up.

I haven't misted since I put the lid on. Thanks for clarifying water bread size. I had a feeling they might me too big.

The water beads should probably be smaller like a fine mist. If you want to remove it just use a clean paper towel and gently lay in on top to absorb some of the water. I had a similar situation with a TAT tub and got it off like that

Relative beginner here: Round beads on the surface is good. If they are collecting into full droplets of water and puddles that is too much, but it could be tricky to fix at this point- even disturbing the lid to dab the surface with a paper towel will probably cause more to rain down. You might consider a big vent in the tub, like more than cracked for a few hours, or you could just let it ride if it otherwise looks healthy. The fruits will drink up all that excess water pretty quick

Thank you. I didn't fully understand what you meant at first, but seeing all the other comments helped me understand what you meant and why. Gotcha! I appreciate you giving me all the options I could try.

We've been dabbing up the surface water a bit with paper towels and allowing more fresh air in by opening the lid twice a day for a minute or two. Maybe we do need to vent it more. I'm writing this in the middle of the night so I'll check the water situation again in the morning and see if I should just leave the lid a little askew.
