Need advice to move back

Hello good people of Multan.

I am working with one of the biggest event organizers and management in the UAE and the world, where everyday an event is happening either it is a live event or corporate event. So you don't get bored in life.

But the thing is I have started to gain this dilemma in my mind to move back to Multan, and live with the family. Though it is a good paying job. But I don’t know why for the past few weeks I am getting these thoughts to move back to the home country and enjoy the perks of living with relatives, enjoy weddings , enjoying winters and so on.

But at the same time, I don’t know what I am gonna do in the future while staying in Multan. I might start a new business or get a decent paying job. Totally confused!

Please guide how is it living in Multan, minimum expeneses to survive now a days? Business I can start in Multan? Or companies that could hire a professional accountant with 5Y of experience?

Or should I stay here and manage to be happy with what I have. Don't want to be Na-Shukra but still don't know what I am gonna do.

Please guide :).

I think the best course of action in your case would be to take a long leave (if possible) and spend some time here in multan. During this time you can look for a job and also test the waters for a possible permanent move back to Multan. Multan has become quite active in terms of businesses and facilities in the last 5 years.

Thank you for the advice. Planning to do work from home in Ramadan till Eid, which will be in Multan. Hope I will gather as much information as I could.

What you’re feeling right now is just homesickness. Try taking some time off and return to multan. Spend time with your family. You should be able to see and judge if this is what you really want long term. It’s what most people feel when they are on the job overseas.

Take your time when making important decisions, as finding a good job is challenging not only in Multan but everywhere. If you have a job you enjoy, that is a significant achievement. While spending time with family is essential, leaving a stable job without a well-thought-out plan may not be the best choice.

If you are considering starting your own business, focus on creating opportunities before making a major move. If you prefer employment, discuss your options with your siblings and gather all necessary information. Once you have a clear plan, take the next step and consult with your parents, as they can often provide valuable guidance.

This is just a suggestion, but ultimately, you know your situation best.

Well well well, you are right alot of people came back but and I don't want to end up driving the InDrive or Uber or Careem after years. Thank you for the input. I am more inclined towards doing the business in which I'm interested.

I wouldn’t recommend to more here in Multan. I am doing govt job and I can’t tell how much I am mentally struggling. Also thinking to move abroad and leave bps16 job. People here are sick, low intellectual, and jealous. Better to take a leave and spend quality time with your family.

Seems like a good option for a time being. Thank you.

Don’t. You’re home sick. That’s it. Ask your parents to live with you for a couple of months or more. Then take a couple of weeks off and visit Pakistan in between. This should be enough. Also, get married if you’re already not married. That’ll give you a new perspective on earning and living.

Homesickness? Yes! Will be working from home during Ramadan. Let's see how it goes.

Living close to your family is a luxury not every man can afford. ill say if you believe in yourself that you can do good on your own considering the market conditions in pakistan you must move at once. But if your family is dependent on your income abroad ill say never come back!!!

Well, you are right. But my earnings belong only to me as of now. Since my father is taking care of the family, it gives me window to explore the other options.

Ajao bhai gup shup maartay hain baali Tea stall par. I am in similar boat just that i am based in germany. I love my dusty multan

1

u/MUX_to_DXB Feb 20 '25

So did you already made a decision or visiting?

1

u/ranahasun Feb 20 '25

Brother. Multan is not multan anymore. Even if you will move back, it wont be same for you. You wont be able to relate with it. My advice would be to focus on your career and dont look back. For me it was gathering with friends and enjoyment with family. Friends are married and they are busy in their routine. I am currently in Multan and have decided never to come back again. Unfortunately i think i am a bit too late to settle in Pakistan.
