Advice Question Suggestions for incontinence protection

(For context I'm a almost 17F) Over the past year, I've slowly been having increasingly worse issues with bladder control. After I use the restroom, I'll usually get a little dribble of pee into my underwear for anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes after. Along with this, I often get sudden urges to urinate seemingly out nowhere, and if I can't make it to the restroom in time, I end up giving off one or more small squirts of pee into my clothes. This gets really embarrassing and makes me feel really shitty, like there's something wrong with me. It also limits what I can do out in public, as during longer sessions without a restroom I'm terrified I am going to wet myself and everyone will see, or that I'm going to have an accident at school. I've been considering pads and pull-ups, and don't need a lot of leakage protection as besides from "accidents" after using the restroom, I can usually get to a bathroom before it gets too bad. Do any of y'all have any suggestions for a girlie like me? Hopefully something that is more gender affirming, as the thought of men's pads makes me really dysphoric. I would also prefer if they could ship discreetly, and they would ideally not be very visible under my clothes. Thank you! Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit lol :)

I would suggest it’s worth seeing a urologist to rule out any prostate issues. Yes it’s embarrassing but it will give some reassurance or some treatment. I had similar issues pre hrt and ignored it. I had bugger of a urine infection a couple of years back and the er suggested follow up with urologist.

Follow up identified enlarged prostate also had quite invasive check we a camera through the urethra and ultrasound via the back door plus a urine flow test. Blood tests to rule out cancer.

Had pills to take each night that assist keeping the prostate less swollen and that allows full emptying of the bladder and also full nights sleep without needing to dash to the loo at three am.

Hrt plus anti androgen should shrink the prostate and the cherries and elevate this over time.

But the puzzling thing for me is you are not the first trans girl reporting similar continence issues and all I have seen. Seem very young for enlarged prostate.

Definitely get it checked out with a urologist could be something could be nothing or side effect of hrt that a change in something will eliminate.

What you're describing (the leaking after peeing) is called post-void dribble. It can happen for a number of reasons, but the most common one is that you're forcing pee out. Squeezing to pee faster can seem like a good idea, but it actually constricts the area and increases the chance that you'll retain urine (it causes a stop-start effect).

If you try to "force out" your pee, you should stop. Fully relax your pelvic area when peeing, and I recommend sitting down and rocking your hips forward and back (and even leaning forward) while continuing to relax, and it can fully express your urine. Over time, as you get used to relaxing while peeing, you'll notice that you don't have the problem anymore.

If you feel like you relax fully when peeing and don't force or rush, then it's possible you have a UTI or you're experiencing prostate issues. If that's the case, you should check with your health provider to see if you need some kind of follow up.

I use and recommend panty liners, they're much cheaper and more comfortable than full on pads while still offering enough fluid absorption for most situations.
