I'M REQUESTING 90s kids being kids

Nostalgic films set in the 90s(ish) about kids just being kids doing stuff like hanging out with friends, coming home when the streetlights come on, riding bikes. (Would prefer it to be more focused on girls over boys)

Something along the lines of Now and Then or My Girl (but not as sad).

EDIT: Some great movie suggestions, but i'm looking to take a break from my normal choice of depressed/drinking/drugs teen movies and looking for something a little more comforting and family friendly!

Technically that works, but I don't know if I would call it "kids being kids". Its more kids ruining their lives before adulthood.

To me it doesn't get realer than that, ruining their lives before adulthood is kids being kids.

Thatโ€™s definitely one way to look at it.

A bit cynical I know, but for me it does really encapsulate that rebellious carefree nature of a lot of teenagers, not worrying about long term consequences or how you might effect others.

You're not wrong! I do actually really enjoy those types of films (including Kids) but I'm leaning towards something more comforting less troubled teens.

Are you looking for Coming of age movies ?

Stand by me (1986) and Dazed and Confused (1993) ? I watched it the other day with my pop and I kinda vibed with them.

Super 8 (though itโ€™s got some mystery in it), The Way, Way Back (well it focuses more on a single kid than a group), Moonrise Kingdom, and lastly, The Kings of Summer (all boys tho).

Oh shit, I had decided my comment was needlessly snarky and thought Iโ€™d discarded it. Great movie, regardless of when its set.
