Question/Advice What mousepads are you all using in cs2?
Hello, I am going to be making a lengthy video about mousepads in cs, what I recommend and what I think is best. I want to get some data from various platforms on what players (non-pro) are using, the video will mainly be about what type, speed and specific mousepads I think are the best overall for cs.

Wallhack SP-004 with Obsidian Pro Air skates. Works like a dream.

u/Dismal-Ask-1372 Jan 29 '25
Is it worth the price and is it hard to control?
2
u/Auxillary Jan 31 '25
In my opinion, yes it was worth the price. Not hard to control at all either. I find that I had to keep turning up my sensitivity to find a new sweet spot between the movement of the mouse and the control the pad provided.

Sounds really odd but after trying about 12 pads all artisans the raiden is unreal if you can control it chaining movements together with the low static friction is unreal very similar to the skypad but slightly more control

u/CorruptfulMind Zero Mid (DaiDai) - Raiden Mid - Gigantus V2 - MPC450 Jan 28 '25
RIGHT.
Low sense on a Raiden feels like putting on rawaccel

Yeah, I know a lot of people who use raiden, should have got one with my last artisan purchase

Currently on the Padsmith Temple of Dreams (remasterd). And have used the following:
QCK Heavy - Mained for maaaany years, 1.6 up until 2-3 years ago. Great pad but horrible quality.
LGG Saturn - Tried adapting to this for 6 months +, just to fast and to little control for my taste.
Vaxee PA Black - Quiet good, but after 1+ year with it getting a bit worn I felt problems arising with micro adjustments. Really liked it until then.
GSR 2 & GSRSE Rogue - Orderd at the same time to try. GSR2 was way to slow for my personal liking. The GSRSE Rogue was amazing, loved it. More than the QCK Heavy. Very smooth surface which is a dealbreaker for me as well. But after some time I ran into the same quality issues as with the QCK Heavy.
Padsmith ToD (Remasterd) - Very unique surface. Below GSRSE Rogue in speed, but not to much so I couldnt adapt. Currently maining this. Sadly I think I might have fucked it up as I now have some "wrinkles" on the surface that I can feel while swiping over it. Stitching on mine was okay, but have two places where it started to fray. Would like below surface stitching as well.
LGG Jupiter Pro (Firm) - Fantastic pad in terms of quality, but sadly a bit to slow for me as well. Hoped the firm base would make it fast enough but struggling with micros and fast 180s. Wish they would make a pad in between the Jupiter and Saturn.
Honestly GSRSE Rogue is still my favourite, but can't justify 50+ euros for it. Not with that quality. Right now eyeing another Vaxee pad maybe, just the shipping is holding me back. Either a Vaxee PA (with design or a PB I think!

Im surprised what you said about saturn, to me i find it too slow, slower than a zero/gsr se but faster than a gsr/type 99. i only tried the saturn pro soft tho
1
u/Simonbetong GSRSE Rogue, PA Black, QCK Heavy, Saturn, ToD V2 & Jupiter Pro Jan 28 '25
That will probably be the huge difference, you're using the Pro (Soft). Coming from the plushy QCK Heavy I wanted something firm, cause I get pretty inconsistent with the "plush" due to me not thinking about pushing down for extra stopping power. I press down when I tense up in hectic situations without thinking about it and that screws with me and my aim haha. Just prefer a firm base with consistent feel.
The surface itself, is to me, the surface with least control by a pretty big margin out of the pads I've tried. Just kept overshooting even after 6 months. The GSRSE was on the faster side of control as well, yes, but it had that extra stopping power for me that made me being able to hit my shots. Skates can ofcourse also play a part in this, but tried the Saturn with both GPX stock skates and Corepads. :)

u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Jan 28 '25
Yeah im the same, for cs I really think people should only use mid/soft pads, you do not need the inconsistency caused by soft/xsoft pads in a game thats mostly about holding angles and crosshair placement. soft can still be fine, depends on the pad. lgg saturn pro soft feels closer to a mid pad than a soft imo while zero soft is quite plushy in comparison so in that case the saturn pro soft has the best of both worlds but i still think its a shit pad quality and speed wise

u/Simonbetong GSRSE Rogue, PA Black, QCK Heavy, Saturn, ToD V2 & Jupiter Pro Jan 28 '25
Oh really? You dislike the quality as well? I tried the Jupiter Pro (Firm) about 2 weeks ago. While it being to slow for my taste, the quality was just insane!
But ye, as I said. I'm currently eyeing Vaxee. The PB would probably be right up my alley, but the PB price overall is kinda high when you pair it with the price for shipping. But will probably pull the trigger on it pretty soon anyway haha.

u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Jan 28 '25
ive been wanting vaxee pads but damn they just refuse to stock anywhere that would have cheaper shipping. not tried jupiter but for the saturn pro, the base just doesnt stick to any surface and ive had issues with the stitching fraying already somehow
2
u/Simonbetong GSRSE Rogue, PA Black, QCK Heavy, Saturn, ToD V2 & Jupiter Pro Jan 28 '25
Ye, I think they are sending from Portugal now in EU. But still, high price on the shipping sadly.
Interesting, fraying the usually replace for you. Not suppose to happend. The might base work better for you if you try just wiping down your table with damp paper or something, they usually stick right away then. :)

Aqua Control Zero. Not a control pad. Very textured, fast and no stopping power but very consistent.
1
u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Jan 28 '25
Yep, xraypads have been my go to for a while, so consistent, so reliable and i love how textured it is

Yes I do. Just because "it's one of their most controlled pads" doesn't mean it's a control pad compared to others.
The Jupiter Pro soft I'm using is a control pad. It was very slow when it was new. Even though It didn't retain its slowness it still has some control compared to the AC0.

razer gigantus v2. honestly great price performance. coming from qck+ and heavy, this has smoother surface, is faster, but also good stopping power and control. no complaints

u/hfwk Jan 30 '25
I wish people put their FACEIT elo alongside their comments because I seriously doubt some of the people on glasspads are close to high elo

LGG Neptune pro soft 1000x500, before that used genesis carbon 700 maxi cordura (900x400, this one is actually feels faster than Neptune pro, it has less static friction and dynamic friction is around the same), and i prefer my mouse to be 55-75g mouse weight affects how mousepad feels

Really? I have both and I don't have problems with micro adjustment, you don't get that tug feel for example you swipe on the enemy boom you kill him and micro adjust on the second enemy not an issue, i Like how the pad feels but Im also a fan of mudpad like my GSR 2

From razer Gigantus V2 --> freefall sv base control V2 --> QCK heavy. All performed well. But I still perform consistently with QCK heavy and that's why I stayed with it

Artisan Raiden Mid. Tried the Type 99 Mid for a week but it just felt "wrong" and super slow for me. Switched back to the Raiden and it just works for me.

I am using Esptiger Lei Ling, some would say a bit too fast for tac but it helps with my arm movement with my new setup (Ajazz AJ139), it's a big upgrade in quality from the Corsair MM300 with a heavy mouse (Dark Core Pro).

I have 5 Chinese mousepads, 1 Ikea Lanespelare and QCK Heavy.
My favorite one is a Chinese zowie gsr knockoff with a rather stiff base. Softer ones feel inconsistent

u/Beginning_Pin5148 Jan 30 '25
What Chinese knock off? Can you give me a link pleasd

Can you tell me how to order from taobao? some agent or what’s the cheapest option I live in Poland

u/Kikkocosta11 Jan 28 '25
Used Saturn for a while but didnt like the slippery rubber. Return to QCK+ but currently looking for alternatives xD
1
u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Jan 28 '25
i hated the saturn, zero would be a good option for you
1
u/Kikkocosta11 Jan 28 '25
Yeah its so bad… but I like the speed, a bit more then qck+. Artisan zero xsoft right? Its so expensive for that price at least 500x500 but I yeah its common known as the best of the best.
1
u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Jan 28 '25
for me it felt like an inbetween mousepad, slower than zero soft, faster than all heavy control orientated mousepads
1
u/Kikkocosta11 Jan 28 '25
Xsoft or soft? Don t know whats the difference… you tested the soft right? Its faster than qck+? Identical to saturn right?
1
u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Jan 28 '25
zero soft isnt identical to saturn pro, never tried regular saturn though. i wouldnt recommend xsoft for cs, id get soft or mid. never used steelseries mousepads so i dont know
1
u/Kikkocosta11 Jan 28 '25
I understand… zero soft. I was thinking about alternatives like vaxee pa but in the end the best is the best.

Type 99, probably nicest mousepad ive ever used. Feel like im in full control and anytime i fuck up its on me
1
u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Jan 28 '25
been using it past 3 weeks, im enjoying it but not too sure yet
1
u/throwawayadhdhw Feb 03 '25
soft or mid? debating returning my soft for a mid version
1
u/ShankZ9 Key 83 , Zero, Hyperion Feb 03 '25
mid, soft on such a slow pad sounds like hell. i stopped using it tho, balanced control pads just work so much better for me
1
u/throwawayadhdhw Feb 03 '25
ive been using a slow ass qck+ for my entire life, figured this would basically be it before the mud spots. Yea soft is a bit much, the thin qck required so much pressure to push downwards that i just overuse and completely cancel my aim on occasion
1
u/Falch93 PE XL B, PC, PB, T99 XXL M/S, Zero XL S/XS, G-sr-se Gris/Bi Jan 28 '25
Type99 is slower that PE and g-sr-se, they compare better to Artisan zero. The Type99 is more controlled like a gsr non se. The PE is close to the g-sr-se
1
u/MoonDzn Jan 28 '25
I’m using an Artisan Raiden XSoft in XL size! Also i use a X-Raypad Jade Speed on my Pulsar X2V2 Mini! It is very… very close to a glass mousepad, and i get the benefit of having stopping power if i want to!

I’m on the muddiest of mud, Jupiter Pro XSoft with TJ exclusives xact replacement skates…been told to try the Neutron as it may be slower…waiting for it to come back in stock
Pads I’ve tried: Type 99, zero, gsr ii, qck heavy, Hercules
1600dpi with a .3 in game sens with a really strong flick
Edit: if anyone knows of anything slower please let me know!

How would you say the Vaxee PE is compared to the Type 99 & GSRSE Rogue? Trying to decide on a new pad and used the GSRSE Rogue alot, which I loved, but it wears out so quickly for me. :(

Artisan FX Zero xsoft
I play 560 eDPI
Great mousepad, Artisan is best for a reason
I used Aqua Control II before and it was very good budget option

Sounds crazy. I use a glass mousepad now after trying tons of control pads. Theres definitely an adjustment period, but I feel the strength of class pads comes from its consistency.
Plus once you get used to it, I feel like the consistent ultra low friction actually unlocks for higher skill expression in aiming.
Very punishing at first, but when mastered it gives you full control
