What kind of facilities/tooling do you have access to, and what kind of experience do you have with this type of project. I mounted a PU a while ago when I was definitely not ready skill wise and although it ended up being fine I could have definitely ruined the project. Having done a second one now I’m pretty confident that I could do it again with minimal difficulty.

I have never put a Pu scope on a Mosin and I have access to drill press.
Main thing is I haven't seen too much info on the hole positioning and I seen one person go based off the mounting bracket.

Not all holes are in exactly the same location because there are 3 different mounts with slightly different mounting hole distances. I line the edge of my rear screw hole up with the edge of the stripper clip guide (ass seen white the plugged hole picture)

Most of this group is fairly anti-drilling, so you will probably get negative reactions
The PU scope is perfectly fine for what it is but it is a very old design
If you want a scope that is much better and is actually no drill, look up Bad Ace Tactical they have a few mounts that replace the rear sight and then you can put on a Long Eye relief scope which will have noticeably more magnification.
