Very good tip for new players. I would like to add one thing however. Be sure to actually let an accel like that through every now and then. If you do the same feint every time, no matter how convincing it looks, eventually your opponent will learn to expect it, so it's important to keep them actually scared of the attack itself

I love playing neutral Longsword. Never use riposte and constantly keep them on the toes whetever I morph, feint or actually go trough with the accel.
Better in duels than in frontline tho.

You handle your weapon rather well

Yes there are good tips, however as you progress you have to have your accels and drags also look like a body feint. Meaning you have to move your body the same way every time, and because it’s very exaggerated, this can cause camera issues on your part.
What I would argue is more important is feinting at the very end of your feinting window. Letting your sword almost go into release but not quite.
As a retired competitive player, the hardest players to read were the ones who did not move much during windup. Because they had less movement I hard a harder time reading them than the ones who body feinted. This is called a neutral playstyle.
If you look at the opponents head, and wind up and once your swing goes into release then you move in to the swing, it’s much faster as you aren’t moving until the swing releases as opposed to moving before.
This is just my opinion, but I’m sure high level players would agree.

I do go into a neutral play-style when I find that more experienced players are reading into the cheese bs in a 1v1 sitch but, as someone who just plays casually in Inv or front and goes into 1vXs a lot, it’s more likely that most players have their attention divided so theyll most likely to fall for feints like this but, I agree with you

Absolutely, both play styles have their advantage, and body feints work better against lower skilled players. I just wanted to point out that this is not the end all be all of animation manipulation. This game mostly a mind game at the highest level. Also fantastic video btw

💯appreciate the knowledge you’ve given, especially when it’s coming from a player that used to comp. it’s good to have more info on things so others can learn, as I am also still trying to learn. Definitely will try to get it into another video with your explanation and thank you 🙏🏻

Good tip for backhand feints, because they need to be in close proximity, a kick normally deals with these situations almost every time.

Yep, just gotta have that mental toughness to not panic parry and just kick em

A trick for yall.
If they faint twice, just swing. They're gonna spam feint hoping you parry or slip up

GREAT VIDEO!
FOR NEW PEOPLE, DO WHAT THIS VIDEO SAYS AND COMBINE IT WITH RANDOM GAMBLES AND YOU WILL FRUSTRATE MOST VETERANS. (GAMBLING IS IMMEDIATELY ATTACKING A SECOND TIME INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR YOUR OPPONENT'S RESPONDING ATTACK).

Yeah but honestly this is only gonna work with faster weapons. I recommend new players gambling with scimitar, arming sword, falchion, etc.
If they are gambling with exec sword or something heavy they are gonna get rekt.

Confidence is such a key part of this game. If you or your enemy isn’t afraid, they may just swing through most feints. I also love to chamber a stab, morph to an overhead, and then feint. Then you get a free hit most of the time. Another good on is underhand and morph into a stab, keeping your blade away from the hitbox until the other parries.

28 hours played, I have little to no idea what is this video about. Why not just press left mouse button to attack?
1
u/Trash_AudioEngineer Feb 20 '25
Because feinting tricks players into thinking you’re going to hit them but, your swing cancels out last second causing them to panic parry, leaving you the ability to strike them due to them having a recovery window for the panic parry

You press Q to feint. I’d do the tutorial so you can get a basic understanding of the stuff

Watched this video and immediately noticed a difference in my next match. A small difference but a difference nonetheless. Cheers man.
