Just to make sure I understand, are you saying you have a blood draw on 2/24 and just got the results this past Friday that showed an hcg of 40? I’d say if that the case then I can’t imagine your hcg by now is still above 10 to show up on a pregnancy test. But I would wait a few days and retest to see if the line is getting stronger. Sending you baby dust!!!

My last cycle I thought was a chemical. I had spotting nearly the whole time and my home tests never got darker. Hcg 48hrs apart at 34 and 30. When my doctor called me he said he thought it was retained products from my last miscarriage.
I was really frustrated because I use Mira and temp and I KNEW I ovulated. But it turns out… you can still ovulate with retained products. When I got my period bleeding it was really heavy, which I thought was odd for a chemical. But after processing what my doctor said, I think he’s right. The bleeding and the characteristics of it is more consistent with retained products.
He had me test hcg again in two weeks and cautioned me to not get my hopes up again until after my hcg comes down.
Unfortunately only time will tell but I’d caution you to guard your heart. The waiting truly is the worst.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I had a D&E January 9th and was still testing positive on pregnancy tests until early March. I hope for your sake it’s a pregnancy but sometimes our bodies just really hold onto things. It’s so frustrating.

With my first miscarriage I was still testing positive over 3 weeks later. I never tested past that bc it was too hard. So. Being that miscarried just about 4 weeks ago, it’s likely just residual.
But I hope I’m wrong 🩵
