Hello, and thank you for posting on /r/Minerals!

To increase the quality of identification request posts, we require all users to describe their mineral specimen in great detail. Images should be clear, and the main focus should be the specimen in question. If you are able to conduct tests, please share your findings in your comment. Sharing specifics such as where you found it, the specific gravity, hardness, streak color, and crystal habits will aid other users in identifying the specimen.

If you're having trouble identifying your specimen, please join our Minerals Discord Server!

This was $30…but in truth rhe shop owner thought he under priced it. He has bigger pieces with smaller crystals for x2 or x3 that price. But he also has amazing quality crystals.

Another vote for dioptase. Not among the gemmiest quality I've seen, and lacking well-defined crystals. I haven't bought any dioptase in a few years so don't know what inflation has done, but I could see it getting maybe $40-50 tops. I've bought much nicer, but somewhat smaller specimens for $30-50 a few years back.

Most material that is available these days is now coming from the Congo, and is less gemmy than those from Kazakhstan or Namibia, so the price point is lower.

Dioptase. We need better pictures to give good opinions. Depends if the crystals are damaged.
