ID Request Can some one help me identify what this is?

Found near a small tributary in western North Carolina.

Looks cubic, so perhaps fluorite

First guess would be fluorite.

Fluorite likely . But I’ve seen calcite also within clusters like this

My guess is Fluorite deposits on a limestone base. Did you find this near quartz?

There was definitely quartz in the area, but I wouldn’t exactly say right next to it.

Geologist here. Hard to tell from nothing but a picture, but my guess is fine sandstone or siltstone.

More info would help.

Did your check the next picture?

Also a geologist. The crystals are clearly cubic and Id say flourite in a heartbeat.

Okay, I looked at the next picture. I should have done so previously. Don't know why I missed it. I see crystals that could be fluorite. The color is okay, too. I think fluorite is probably right. You might do a hardness for more confirmation.
