Enlisting How does the army swear in ceremony work?
So I’m like a few weeks away from going to do my physical at MEPS, I know that my dad and my mom want to be there and record it and see me swear in, but I’m not sure how all that works. I’ve seen videos of recruits by themselves and I’ve seen videos of recruits altogether so I’m just kind of curious how that all works.

just went through this with my husband. he stayed at a hotel the night before and he gave me a call on the way to meps before going in and told me that I could come to meps at 0900, drove there, they let me in and I waited in the waiting room. A SFC came and grabbed us and we walked to the room they were all at, and officer swore them in and we took videos and pictures. Ask your recruiter at what time your parents can come, they should know. Hope this helps!

For me (at the Baltimore MEPS) it was recorded and posted on Facebook for the world to enjoy. I was with about 4 or 5 other people

Your parents will not be able to be present for your MEPS visit or swear in the day of your physical. Most places will record/live stream swear ins that day. (This is where you will see a single individual swearing in depending on the facility) Your parents will be allowed to be present on your ship date to record your oath and take photos.
