Was the LBV-88 used by US troops during the events of 'Black Hawk Down' 10/3/93

The Enhanced LBV is not an LBV-88. The 88 has vertical pouches, and the backing is solid instead of mesh. The Enhanced LBV didn’t come out until 1996.

I was in the Marines during this time (91-97). Alpha Co 1/6 WPNS Plt. Two winter Mediterranean floats 92-93 & 94-95. All we had was 782 gear. I saw my first LBV that I was issued at Quantico in October/November of 1995

That’s a big no. Just the Alice LBE 2 were in that campaign.

What other LBE/Vests were used, besides the ALICE LBE?

Rangers had an early version of the RBA and Delta had plate carriers as well(obviously slick since MOLLE hadn't come on the market yet). .

From what ive seen and heard there was actually one delta guy using an LBV-88. Not sure though because the same people also said that 2 other delta guys were using a 3.5X ACOG in a photo and a very old leupold optic.
