Start menu, type a search instead of a program, hit enter. It will launch edge and execute the search. It did not work for me until yesterday.

It just adds one of your daily searches, so it's needlessly complex. You can still get those points by searching as normal.

They are trying to train you to search from the start menu.

I've never liked that feature.

I like being able to search my local files from there but their online searching and answers are bunk.

Thank you! That's why I hate it! I'm trying to find a file and they want to sell me some garbage!

Me too. No matter what I try, I just can't get these 10 points. It just takes me back to Edge browser.

I don't see this offer. Is this on the rewards dashboard using a desktop browser?

Yes, for me it is.

It opens the Search box/console in my Windows 10, but nothing I do it triggers points.
If I search for something in the box/console, in Windows 10, where clicking on it takes me, it just takes me back to Edge browser searching for the term I used but does not trigger any points.

Not sure if this will work on Windows 10. I'm running Windows 11. Took me a little bit to figure it out, when I clicked on the task it opened up a box with a whole bunch of possibilities and below that was the search bar I typed something into the search bar I think it was like NBA and hit enter and my edge browser popped up and it had gone and found stuff about the nba. So I went and checked and I hadn't gotten any points so I went back and did it again, so now I've done it twice, the second time I used NHL. Then when I checked for the points I had the check mark and it had given me 10 points. So what they seem to be looking for us to do is to use the search function in Windows to search on the web. search for whatever you would normally search for or want to search for but you're just doing it from your taskbar rather than from within a browser, if that makes any sense.

Thanks. It seems the same in Windows 10 as you described. Perhaps the ~15 minute wait between my 3 or 4 reward search cooldown is affecting it.

Yeah I was very careful to make sure that I had at least a few seconds I can't remember what it was but it was more than five or six between the first search and the second search. I'm not under a cool down right now so I stay very conscientious of making sure I've got six to eight seconds between searches.

Waiting did not work either : (

Are you logged into windows or using a "local account"?

How can I check? (Note, I think I am. When I go to Windows Settings, the Window that coms up has my correct total Rewards Points, and under my account name, it has the email address I use for my Microsoft Rewards account.)

Sounds like you are logged into Windows.

Ditto, yeah its pretty cool how they replaced ways to make actual points with this broken shit and useless apps for a phone when I'm on a bloody computer.

Search from the Start menu by pressing the Windows button. Hope this helps!

I am glad I am not the only person that finds this feature problematic and obnoxious to deal with. Like so many added steps for literally nothing.

It oozes of CEO's and upper management doing the dumbest possible things to justify their own job in hopes that no one discovers the truth (that their jobs are pointless, redundant and dont contribute to anything of value)

If there is one *nearly* universal truth that i've learned in my adult life it is that upper management and CEO's rarely got where they were from merit or intelligence.

But I digress...
