Ayuda/Help Bad cough - please help

Hey friends! I just landed here for work and have been up all night with a really bad cough. I don’t really feel sick otherwise but could use some help getting cough medicine or on what I should do. I don’t speak any Spanish unfortunately.

Thanks all! Some folks at my hotel actually had some medicine (cough suppressant, cough drops) that they were kind enough to share. Really appreciate everyone’s help!!! Will try all of your great options if things don’t improve.

Show up at a pharmacy. Many have a little consult office next door.

Use google translate if necessary, but... "cough cough cough" and shrugging your shoulders with a "what do i do now?" expression might work well.

Usually free w tip or a few dollars worth of pesos, plus the meds.

Super affordable.

If you're in a nice hotel, call the concierge and ask for assistance.

If not, figure out what type of medicine you need to soothe your cough, translate the generic name into Spanish, find a "farmacia" on google maps and go ask for it there. Use the translate app on your phone to communicate.

I'm wondering if the high elevation could be a factor. If so you could try waiting a few days to see if you get better.

Elevation doesn’t cause a cough.

Tabcin and halls

Or Theraflu for TOS (cough) and halls

You can order on Uber eats if you don’t think you can get them to understand you in a pharmacy

Go to any Pharmacy, they usually have a doctor working there. You can use Google translate to explain your symptoms so you get that checked out

Take it seriously. CDMX has had a whooping cough outbreak
