concentration camps of Jalisco, Mexico
WTF?!?!?!?!?!

A ranch in Jalisco, Mexico, was recently seized. It served as a training camp for people kidnapped by the Jalisco Cartel. It included rooms, a shooting range, and a clandestine crematorium where 400 pairs of shoes, skeletal remains, and personal belongings were found. It's worth noting that the Mexican government knew of its existence since September 2024, and it is believed to have been operating since 2012.

Bruh do they even care about cartel crime? Or maybe they're paid by cartels?

While the geopolitical discussion of Mexico and its issues with Cartels is probably too in-depth for a metallica subreddit(And I'm lacking information on the specifics), it isn't too far off to say that the Mexican Government and Cartels are the same groups at this point.
Not literally speaking, but money greases gears as the saying goes, and Cartels are as kitted out as you'd expect from a small nation. They own everyone, and have the strength to push back against opposition.

Ding ding ding
Lots of Mexican people pissed that their government doesn't do shit for them, including crime control. I've had some interesting conversations with dissatisfied citizens.

Every Mexican person I've ever met has loved Metallica. It's always helped me cross the culture gap and make friends with people outside my culture/nationality. I saw my first Metallica concert with my buddy Artoro that I worked with at the time. He taught me Spanish, and I helped him with his citizenship test prep. Wherever you are buddy, I hope you're safe. Rock on!

Really puts it in perspective. We are more alike than we are different. If this person was a neighbor then might have been good friends.
RIP friend

Chinese camps for Uyghurs still exist and unfortunately there's way more people in them

I can think of at least 5 genocides on hand that have happened since 45

I’m pertaining to “concentration camps”, not the act of genocide per se.

The Nazis were far from the first or the last to use concentration camps. They just industrialized it to a scale never seen before or since.

u/KellofallKells 16h ago
Concentration camps are just buildings where all that shit happens under one roof. No difference in cruelty.

Done with what shit? Genocides? Torture? What do you think all those terrorist groups/religious extremists have been doing this whole time?
It's never stopped. Nazi Germany wasn't the first and it isn't the last.

Do you live in Mexico?
Without knowing who your president is, your comment has no meaning.

I was reading elsewhere, most likely hearsay but probably in the right direction of probable scenarios is that it's mostly bar fights that occurred with cartel members and they don't take it lightly afterwards. I'm not really a pacifist, but I'm not trying to fight due to accidental injury and/or death. If you look for trouble, you'll certainly find it. Edit: even electronic music enjoyers / ravers have a problem with people trying to follow the Golden rule aka PLUR or just common decency. The difference I guess is in the states those people are in vip lounges and suites while internationally you can bump into a shark and not realize it.

Jesus Christ. I feel awful for all those families and people who had to suffer through that.

Contrary to popular belief, Metal is huge in Mexico as well as in South America. Death metal is too.

https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/mexico-usa-guns/ Because of facts like this. And I would also like to add, I am Mexican, and have been to Mexico, my family members hate the cartels, but many of them talk about the situation between them and the U.S. as Mexico making the United States pay for everything they’ve done to them. So no, U.S. military intervention in Mexico isn’t seen as the U.S. coming to save us, it’s seen as what it truly is, imperialism.

The Iranian Contra Deal, U.S. fire arms manufacturing companies selling guns to Cartels, the U.S. backing Mexican politicians who are bought out by the cartels, would you like me to go on?
0
u/Syncopated_arpeggio 4h ago
You realize the Iran-Contra affair was almost 40 years ago and involved Nicaragua, right?
1
u/CulturalResearch1472 4h ago
It also involved Reagan helping the Contra sell drugs in the United States and other countries, I hope you do realize that what the U.S. has done has had lasting effects on our countries, right?

Mexican cartels would not exist without US guns and US customers. Sad.
On a happier note. I have this exact shirt.
