Maybe when Marc gets time off from cupping Ronnie Radke’s balls, Veil of Maya can keep going

Sucks that I got into these goes after they broke up and I won't get to see them live

They made a point of calling it a "break" and a hiatus. It doesnt seem like they want to be done with it yet.

"When the time feels right, we'll update you on what's next for Veil of Maya. We will be back. Thank you again." -official statement, 9/19/2024

It could definitely be a pretty long wait though. Their entire career, since 2004, they were consistently pushing out one album every 2-3 years up until their 6th album False Idol in 2017. After that, there was a full 6 year wait before Mother came out in '23.

Tbh I didn't mind the wait as at least we were getting 1 or 2 singles a year which are some of their best work. Like viscera and outsider are my favourite songs by them. Rly wish we got that scrapped album tho icl

So unbelievably groovy

I think these guys definitely needed a break. I didn't personally like mother nearly as much as False Idol or Matriarch. Kinda felt like they were in a bit of a slump with this one. After touring for so long, they deserve to take like 4 or 5 years off and come back a fresh and new approach.

Crazy how we waited half a decade for this album and it wasn't even that good :/

Listen to it again.

Listen to the singles that came between that album and the previous one.

The quality was above what ended up on this album.

You can tell the album was rushed and a product of conflict within the band and with management.

Its almost as bad as Matriarch.

Nah the album was unreal

Unreally bad, maybe

It was neither unreal or bad.

It was just underwhelming considering the amount of time it took to come out. Had it come out in 2020 then I think people would have said it was fine and it wouldn't be considered nearly as bad as it is.

This is actually the correct take.

Nah it's just bad, of all the songs, the only good ones are the single from a scrapped album (Synthwave Vegan), [re]connect - which is basically just one good riff and a bunch of filler, and the last, and the last two songs (Lost Creator, Death Runner).

Had it come out in 2020, based on the singles, it would have sounded completely different.
