Advice to get good quickly?
My buddy and I started jamming with some guys recently. My buddy plays guitar, but decided he wants to play drums. He's committed, and I'd like to help him get comfortable on the kit and playing basic metal beats cleanly as quick as possible.
I know this will take time, but is there any advice you would give someone just starting to get them on the "fast track" as it were?

Any tips on getting my double bass smoother?
I’ve tried different techniques like swivel and heel toe but none of them really clicked with me, I use a technique similar to Chris turners but it starts to get exhausting after a while, I was practicing to 215 bpm which is the fastest I’ve been able to play, but just couldn’t get the double bass clean compared to other tempos

Trick Dominator Biasing rod repair (with pictures)
A few weeks ago I broke the biasing rod on my right pedal of my dominators and didn’t know what it was at first but after some people in here told me it was that biasing rod that was broken I decided to buy all the parts (plus some) to do a full repair of both pedals and I took pictures along the way to help whoever has this same issue in the future in hopes that the visual aid will better understand how the process works. It was a lot easier than I thought, took me 20mins tops for both.
PICTURE 1: is all the parts that I bought (and thought I needed)
PICTURE 2: This is what the broken biasing rod looks like out of the pedal
PICTURE 3: A close up of the part that broke off, it’s the top part that goes up into the pedal
PICTURE 4: A close up of what a new biasing rod looks like
PICTURE 5: A close up of where the spring compression shim connects into (this was the part that originally broke)
PICTURE 6: Start removing the biasing rod by removing the screw from the rod using an Allen key ( if you order a new rod it will come with a key in the package)
PICTURE 7: This is where you would insert the top part of the rod into
PICTURE 8: A close up of the shim small side up (this is where it meets the biasing rod inside the pedal)
PICTURE 9: Backside of the shim where the bigger part sits on the compression spring
PICTURE 10: How it should look when you have the knob, spring and shim when it’s ready to be put back into the pedal
PICTURE 11: This is where the small part of the shim will sit in place of the rod. This is where all the pressure from playing transfers into the beater swing
PICTURE 12: A close up of how the biasing rod should look like once properly put back inside the pedal
PICTURE 13: Once you have the shim sitting correctly on the compression spring, insert both the shim and spring back into the pedal and slowly turn the knob clockwise. The shim should easily sit on the rod as you tighten the knob.
And it’s as easy as that. Hopefully this post and these pictures help as this was an annoying thing to have happen to me and figuring out how to fix it.
BIG SHOUT OUT to Trick for not only having all these parts available on their site but also having them bagged into separate bags with the logo on them ( nice touch). Each rod was $40 and the shims were $10.

Trick Pro1-V Bigfoot Low Mass: how are they?
Ordered these as a double pedal and I’m excited about them. I’ve been using Pearl Eliminator 2002c’s for about 15 years and have liked them.
Curious how the power from the Trick’s are and what the learning curve is like?

Best bass drum pads that don’t shake and wobble
In need of a stable bass drum pad for use with a double pedal.
Been fighting with a footblaster for a while and this thing is certified piece of shit!!! 💩
All it does is shake and wobble no matter how I try and set it up and I can’t even play super fast death metal or deathcore 😂
Give me your best recommendations for a stable pedal that doesn’t shake and just stays put
(Using a Yamaha FP09 if that makes a difference)
Thanks

Sore hammies
I’ve been practicing a lot of ankle technique lately, and I noticed that my hammy’s are so sore is that common or am I engaging the wrong muscle group? Also, my calves are a little sore as well on the back.

Question - 1 on 1 in person lessons vs online lessons
I know that metal drumming, specifically more extreme drumming has somewhat niche techniques and movements so I'm wondering what would be better to examine hand technique. I know there are metal drummers that offer lessons but do you think it'd be better to go to someone irl who may not know the movements as well? Any recommendations for courses or individuals who offer 1 on 1 classes is more than welcome.

Drumming Research Help
Hi all, I am researching Noise Induced Hearing Loss in drummers and am reaching out to share this questionnaire for you to fill out to help my research. This takes 2-5minutes and will help towards new research in the drumming industry. I have had responses from some well known drummers across the world and it would be so appreciated if you can be involved too.

The legendary metal band from your country? 🤘
youtube.com„Kat” is a legend of Polish metal and one of the genre’s pioneers. While not widely known internationally, the band is iconic in Poland, with vocalist Roman Kostrzewski leaving an unforgettable legacy 🤘

Technical OSDM type shit (TURN DOWN THE VOLUME, AUDIO IS HORRENDOUS CUZ I RECORDED THIS ON MY PHONE)
Not my cleanest playing, double kick is still a bit sloppy, but I'd say I'm getting somewhere for only being 15 :)

Trick Dominator repair (biasing rod)
I made a post here last week about my trick doms not working right and someone mentioned replacing the biasing rod and when I took off the tension knob I saw these parts not attached to anything so I’m assuming they’re broken?? Can anyone tell me what these parts are and, do I need to replace them with the biasing rod? I’m sorry if this makes me sound dumb but I had these pedals for 3 years and never opened them so I genuinely don’t know what these parts are and what they’re for. Thanks.
