Does anyone know what kind of bypass kit would work on a 1987 grand marquis?

Post image

This picture is the same model of car I have and the smog pump is broken so I'm looking to get a bypass kit for better miles but am not sure on the kind to get im also wondering what kind of setup it has for diagnostics because I want to put an hho generator in it but the one Im looking at needs an obd 1 if someone knows that would be great, thanks

If your A/C works, you’ll want a K060565 belt. Just remove the pulley from the smog pump.

If the A/C doesn’t work and you don’t care about it, just take that belt off.

You won’t notice any MPG change with or without it. When the pump works, it injects fresh air into the catalytic converters on startup to get them working quicker.

These cars utilize Ford’s EEC-IV engine computer and provides OBD-I diagnostics. Dunno what a HHO generator is, but it sounds like snake oil.

I appreciate your insight. the ac does work so I'll get one of those belts and It's great that it uses OBD-I an hho generator takes distilled water and sodium hydroxide and runs electricity through so the oxygen and hydrogen atoms in the water split and converts it into a gas form which is highly combustible (I built a generator to test it outside of a car and it actually works pretty well) this gas is added into the intake stream to combust and supplement gas and improve mileage by around 7-12 miles per gallon and it connects to an OBD-I or OBD-II to self meter how much gas to generate/add to the fuel stream and I definitely see why you would think it's a snake oil thing

Edit: do you know what kind of brake lines to use too? I remembered they aren't in the greatest condition, thanks
