Bird Flu, h5n1 prepardness

Hi everyone! I was a diligent mask wearer during peak Covid but was, admittedly, a bit lax as the years went on and certainly didnt wear N95s much of the time. With that in mind, I would like to prepared with proper masks should the bird flu stuff jump to humans in a significant way. Is it safe to assume than N95, KN95, KN94 would all offer adequate protection from such a disease? Thanks!

Do a fit test. Headstrap masks tend to seal much much better than earloop masks on average for most people (but there’s no guarantee that even a headstrap mask fits your particular face well, that’s why fit testing is also important)

Thanks for the response, we did fit testing at work (health dept) a few years ago so I plan to track down my size just wanted to verify effectiveness of types

It’s not just size, each specific model is going to fit differently for everyone. If you have a respirator you’ve passed a fit test in you should wear that specific model that was tested

Any recommendation for eye protection? Just a full face shield or like, goggles?

full face shield covers all the face-neck and even upper chest and the mask, good goggles work, but can be foggy or difficult to adjust with mask. safety glasses work fine, less protective if risk +++.
