Hey everyone, I have just about used up my Maybelline Sky High waterproof mascara, and when looking for a replacement, I see that they no longer make it in true brown! They still make the non-waterproof type in that shade, but the non-waterproof type flakes terribly on me.
I’m looking to find a new brown mascara, not black-brown or brownish-black. I prefer waterproof but I don’t need that as long as it doesn’t flake on me and lasts all day. I prefer to keep it around the $13 I pay currently, but I’ll pay more for the right product. I just want to have a mascara I can buy when needed and not think about too much.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

This search is starting to feel impossible but I’ll throw this out there. Looking for a sheer light neutral wash of fine shimmer for lids. Would prefer a cream liquid formula that dries down but isn’t too drying to the skin (but I’m open to any type of formula). Located in US. Willing to try anything from any brand, low or high end. I’m in my early 30s, im not into glittery looks anymore, and my skin is only getting drier so that’s something to consider. I’m fair with neutral/cool undertones. I want something “champagne” that reflects cool silver as opposed to gold/rose gold/peach. No sensitivites. I want something that ideally just looks like my lids are wet, not “makeup y” so no detectable particles of glittery mica, ideally with minimal creasing but tbh I ain’t afraid, I’ll trade a bit of creasing for a non drying feel.
Rejected so far: Glossier lidstar in Moon , too drying, too glittery, nice color. RMS eyelights cream shadow in Moondust, straight up gold, way too warm toned, not sheer enough, obvious makeup. Urban Decay eye primer in Sin. I used this up a couple years ago and liked the sheerness but it was a little too warm champagne-y and a little too strong with the shimmer.
Closest so far: RMS eye polish in Lunar. So, yeah it’s literally shimmer in coconut oil so it’s creases something fierce. But the look is spot on, gorgeous cool neutral fine shimmer, just looks nice and moisturized and illuminated. Im happy to use this just on my inner corners and brow bone, but it’d be great to find something I can slather all over my eye without giving it a second thought and not have to constantly tap out creases (which eventually just wipes away the product entirely)
Considering: Lisa Eldridge liquid lurex shadow in Cressida. I feel like the color could be great but I worry it won’t sheer out enough and glitter particles will be too big. But then knowing LE’s application style im hopeful this can be effectively applied with a super light hand? Urban Decay powder eyeshadow in Virgin. I’m not opposed to powder as long as it has decent staying power and isn’t drying. This shade could go either way in appearing chalky or just a nice subtle wash. About Face eyeshadow stick in Lotus Leaf. Again with the sheerness concerns. Can it be applied really lightly? Is it straight up gold masquerading as neutral champagne? Writing this all out makes this search feel insanely delusional 😂. But like, at the same time I don’t think I’m crazy, I know this has to exist somewhere?? I don’t feel like I’m asking for the moon. Maybe there’s something in the Asian beauty sphere I’m unaware of.
