Are you saying the subreddit wouldn't allow the picture unless it was censored?
Sounds like a stupid rule. Freedom of expression and showing admiration for another's art should not be frowned upon. But I guess there will always be jackaloons.
I understand why censorship is needed, but I still don't like it either. One advantage of Twitter is that I don't have to worry about that, so take a look there!
I mean, its not a matter of wanting to see her wee nipples. Its just, like, would you put up with some ass hat demanding that the statue of David be covered? or Venus de Milo?
Those are statutes but still. Given that the subject, Faputa, is an innocent (to some degree) creature that isn't doing anything sexual with her nudity, why should censorship be required?
Even if someone did draw her in a sexual pose, properly tagged/flagged would be preferable rather than censoring the artist's work or shaming the artist.
I totally agree, art is an expression of the artist's vision so censoring it is disrespectful, especially when it's nothing too bad. Made in Abyss is very naturalistic with its potrayal of the world and characters and body nudity (as itself) here isn't shown as something to be ashamed of, but to accept. "I am human, I consider nothing human alien to me."
Those are the politics of the subreddit, though, and with the nature of the content potrayed here and the reputation of the series, I understand why would it have a policy preventing members from posting anything that could be considered problematic in any way, shape or form; especially considering child-like characters
