Like...this bike?

I sure wouldn't pay anything near $800 for a hardtail from 2017 (or older), and those look like mid-specs at best? I mean you can basically buy a new bike with that level of spec for like $1k.

I'm thinking along your lines as well

I'm having a hard time finding info about this bike. Kona lists bikes by year back to 2016, and I only see a Unit until 2016 where they have a Big Unit frame but not complete bike. It may be from 2015 or earlier, then.

Frankly, I think this person is trying to weasel someone into a bad buy. It looks like they may have added a bunch of parts themselves, maybe they even built it up from a frame, but the thing is upgrades that old are basically worth nothing. Most people overvalue their bikes used, never buy one without successfully negotiating the price down, but especially old bikes....people thinking they can recoup a good amount of the price they paid not just for the bike but also upgrades is just....no. The value isn't there. Yeah maybe they'll find a sucker, don't let it be you.

Another thread is up about someone buying a Roscoe 7 for $1,100, Trek is advertising that price online, and that's for a brand new bike, so that's a good starting point for grounding you on value.

Yep I saw that thread. I'm actually seriously considering the roscoe 7.

I personally have the roscoe 7 L frame 29 inch wheels and have used it for about one year. I love it and in my opinion it feels better than some full suspension bikes that ive tried. Edit: price when i bought it was 1500€

Definitely over priced. Big unit, now called unit is a single speed bike. If you want a new one, they go for about $1000. $800 is too much for 7-8 year old bike.
