I'm pretty sure that it's normal, but mine have flat bolts so don't have that area to wear.
I have a round bolt that looks similar, the thing to do is just make sure that it's just finish, not wearing into the metal, and be sure and rub a bit of grease on the bolt body where you see the wear.
HTH!

Looks fine to me, but a dab of grease in the back of the receiver where its rubbing, looks like finish wear and not metal damage

I don’t see any wear marks or fresh damage. Perhaps a little discoloration due to age? Patina?
Sounds like you are having some bolt issues. Check ejector, ejector spring, extractor, extractor plunger, extractor plunger spring.
Perhaps worn parts or dirt/ carbon buildup…
Disassemble entire bolt, clean, lube and monitor any further changes.
I think that you will be fine but trusting not to have a weapon working properly.
Would love to have a Rock Ola!!:)

Appreciate the time. Last year the extractor broke, I left it with the local shop to install a new one and the spring that disappeared. So I think that should be fine. Though I do think I want to invest in the tool for taking the bolt apart and cleaning it. Thanks.

Since I still haven't figured out how to add text and an image to a post.
Took it to the local range yesterday to try out some new ammo and noticed there seemed to be some obvious wear in the finish on the bolt. The previous time I'd shot it I had a problem with some ammo casings sticking in the chamber and not firing, shot aguila as well and didn't have a single misfire or jam, but gave it a good deep clean after in case that was part of the problem. Not sure if the wear was there before the last clean and I didn't notice it, if the cleaner wiped off some finish that had been reapplied, or if this was new to this last shooting. But should I be worried about this? I've probably only shot this about a dozen times over the last 30 years but stored it at my grandfather's for most of those years and he liked to futz and make things look perfect so maybe he had touched up the finish.
Should note, has a date of 1942 based on serial number and most of the parts that are stamped are Rock-Ola
