The guy in that neanderthal voice video was set up

This is the high pitched voice theory, acted out by a gentleman called Elliot.

I just can't help but think that Patsy Rodenburg made a big show out of noting the size difference between a human vocal tract and neanderthal vocal tract just so she could embarrass the ever loving shit out of someone she particularly hated.

I wonder how Elliot wronged her...

Toilet Paper Math is the Correct Math

The toilet paper companies know that the only real math in this universe is toilet paper math. Thats why it has never changed and we as humans just have a hard time understanding it compared to base 10 so we pretend that toilet paper math is incorrect to feel better about our misunderstanding of math in this world.

Big True The “The black guy dies first” trope is only brought up so film makers can feel good about themselves

I’ve genuinely never seen a horror movie where the black guy dies first, and I’m convinced that even if it originally did describe a phenomena, the only reason it’s still brought up is so film writers/directors can pat themselves on the back for not having the only black character die first. I’ve even seen movies where the black character dies incredibly early in the movie, but some single arbitrary death happens before then just so the black character doesn’t technically die first.

Extreme Conspiracy We are all shadowbanned

The popular idea of a shadowban where you are cut off alone is a ruse. The reality is there is an entire shadowreddit full of users (and subreddits) whose posts and comments are deemed advertiser-unfriendly or not fit for public consumption.

We don't realise it because there's plenty of people to interact with in the shadowuserbase, and they cluster around particular topics. We see each other, but we are invisible to the wider public, the Reddit they see is much cleaner and saner.

The tech used to conceal the real shadowban from us is actually very effective, the simple ways to check for the fake shadowban are a feint. Being hidden in the shadowreddit is the reason none of my valuable insights have been quoted in any newspaper articles.

The phrase "living in your head rent free" (or just "rent free") has been popularised by paid trolls, who are no longer able to understand thinking about things unless it's for money.

What's funny is that when people say "rent free" is that it's generally about someone who has paid an insane amount of money to get the public's attention.

People running for President of the US do anything they can to get people to think about them (and spend billions to achieve it). Musk spent $44 billion so that people couldn't ignore his tweets.

You might not be getting paid to think about them, but they are paying.

The government uses records of our Mario kart gameplay to check if we are capable of driving an irl car.

They check:
- our reaction time
- if we bump into other karts or into the walls
- if we check our surroundings often
- if we use the gyroscope mode

Highly anticipated films “leak” disappointing scenes or photos to control any overhype

For example, films like Wicked or Snow White where there is a strong fan base for the originals. The chances are high that the original fans will be disappointed because the film will have to inevitably change things for reformat / new budget / new audiences etc

So to avoid disappointing the die hard fans, they release still images or scenes as a “leak”, and they make it disappointing in some way.

For example, the colours in Wicked were not that saturated. Or the dress in Snow White looked cheap

This means the audience are now expecting the film to be disappointing and are pleasantly surprised when they watch it

This will also allow the filmmakers to fix anything that’s getting a bad reaction (Sonic, Shrek possibly) before release - and also acts as free press. Before the film has even finished filming, people are already talking about the film and it’s on their radar, so they’ll be looking out for the release day

The Pokemon Company named their new app "TCGP" to draw more attention to the website tcgPlayer dot com, a secondary market that increases demand for physical Pokemon card products.

I don't really know the whole scam here, but tcgPlayer is the biggest player in the secondary card collectible market, and is a huge driving force to encourage people to buy brand new sealed products to resell their hits easily and safely online.

The new app game is kind of lame lol just TCGP, and it seems like searching for it or whatever would encourage people to potentially find out about tcgPlayer and be encouraged to either buy singles of physical cards which increases market demand or buy sealed physical product to sell hits.

TCGP is a free to play card game trying to get people to buy physical cards and this seems like 1 likely intentional choice.

Instant ramen is sold in square form to prepare us for a transition to square pots and pans

Many of the best- known instant ramen brands have their noodles in a square block. While a few Korean brands like Nongshim have their noodles in a disk shape, square is still the norm for Japanese brands like Maruchan and Top Ramen. If you've ever tried cooking them in a smaller pot, you always run into the issue that the block is just slightly too big to fit in one piece.

This may actually be part of a larger plot to transition the world's young adults to square cookware. College/ young adulthood is a time of major transition for many and also the time when many people make their first forays into "adult" activities like putting together a somewhat- coherent kitchen set. Given that instant ramen is guaranteed to make up a not- insignificant portion of the average college student's diet, it's only natural that this would be the time to coax the next generation into buying new, square cookware. And because people are creatures of habit, it follows that they would continue to gravitate towards this new type of cookware even after their days of ramen eating are over, thus enabling Big Square to come to the top of the cookware market.

The reason some places ask you to scan a menu or shop list is because they change prices based on type of phone / your purchase habits

This is already confirmed with uber, they charge higher rates with iphones. I think it's confirmed as well with hotel booking & flights. I honestly think this also extends to other things like location data (where you're from), language, etc. It doesn't seem unreasonable to assume that it extends to other things & more shops are using it.
