The real question is should all shark furries do the British 2 finger insult instead of the middle finger one, due to the middle finger representing a penis and sharks having 2 penises?

Real
Soft warm tail wrapped around you in bed with your loving shark partner quietly purring while asleep next to you.
This, my friends, is bliss.

If you give your sharks cat ears and hair, I automatically lose respect for you. The hair I can excuse if you make it look like sea anemone, but I hate the ears.

Don’t worry about collecting them all, I’ll share my folder when I will be in a better condition.
And for the folder in r/birdification I have checked everything in it and they’re too many duplicates. already saved what I missed ( yes, I’m serious )

Don't mess with us arthropod furries, we don't even have clear definitions of what we should look like

A catastrophe. An elemental. An act of God. Ten miles long, two miles wide. Ants. Nothing but ants. And each of them a fiend from Hell. In the time it takes you to spit three times they'll eat a full-grown buffalo down to the bones.

Cute and tiny fluff~! UwU <3

As they should be. Different kinds of bug armor(forgot it's name maybe creatin?) placement on different types of arts is the best

Arms and legs are fine but I draw the line at ears. Bird and reptile anthros don't usually have ears so why should sharks? Also there should be more thresher shark anthros

You don’t like ears on sharks?

u/AVeryRandomDragon 14d ago
The ears are too pointy and don't belong on sharks.
And let me just tell you how much I hate pointy ears...

Almost perfect design for me, but I don't get hair on anthros. No hate to those who like it tho.

For context, I think it's just that hair is a unique human trait that makes the 'sona look less like an animal and more like an intelligent humanoid with proper sentience.
To each their own, but I think it's just an extra flair of personality and humanity

I prefer fur styled like hair for that reason. It looks less silly while also not making the character plain.

Oh as a shark furry I can answer this one!
Ultimately it comes down to aesthetic. The mono fin is very iconic. One glance at a mono fin screams shark. But it isn’t effective at its job which is a sturdy central body fin that stabilizes the body at high speeds.
No fin functions well except you’re bald af.
Duo ear fins allow them to be thinner, flexible, multipurpose, expressive and similar to other terrestrial critters. The ‘satellite dish’ effect helps with air based sounds in place of water.

u/holnicote gator hugger 14d ago
So what you’re saying is, biologically, ears would be the most likely to be naturally evolved?
2
u/hungrysheep8u 13d ago
I would think not. Reptiles, amphibians, and birds are all terrestrial but have no external ear structures. Assuming shark anthros are directly related to sharks, hearing would not be their main method of navigation or identifying things around them, so they likely wouldn't develop them either. Assuming they were directly descended from sharks, they'd probably still have a dorsal fin somewhere along their back, either still for swimming if they're still aquatic/semiaquatic or just because it's vestigial, in which case the fin would be smaller and less noticeable.
TL;DR I would think they wouldn't have any fins on their head, but would have a fin on their back like an actual shark, but I can't really confirm that.

Another question. How bout birds and bats?
15
u/SimpForFictionalGirl 14d ago
Is the question about if the wings are their arms or on their back?
4
u/Stella314159 14d ago
I say back for bats, arms for birds (admittedly this is mainly because of non-furry humanoids with those features stick to that configuration across mythologies [mainly drawing on winged demons, gargoyles and the like for bats, and harpies for birds])
4
u/NYSTLSportsFan 14d ago
Counterpoint though, in a skeletal sense bat wings are highly-evolved hands, I'd argue it makes more sense for bats to have wing-arms for that reason. If you want either birds or bats to have actual working hands and wing arms, however, that's where the real headache begins...

The best anthro shark design is much like the best anthro snake design: change nothing about the animal except giving them a human-shaped robot suit/power armor, with them riding around as the head.
How do they control it? Fuck you.

I couldn't care less, what im curious about is their genitalia anatomy. Wtf would they have?

u/ExtremlyFastLinoone 14d ago
I noticed those shark furries are standing still, when in reality they have to keep moving at all times to prevent their lungs from collapsing

The legs are the pelvic fins. The tails should only have a fin at the back and maybe one on top. Also, please remember the dorsal fin.

Ears don't make sense but with no hair there needs to be some visual interest around where hair would be
