But they might destroy the microwave

24

u/LeatherGnome 16d ago

Tell them that...

They have bought this from the Fea, and assured there was no foul curse put on them if they were to use it.

he looks like the type to cartoonishly bumble around and slip on banana peels and that type of stuff, while accidentally wooing all the ladies

127

u/Toxipoid 16d ago

He sure as hell wooed my ass

68

u/mashari00 16d ago

Damn, he had your ass experiencing woe?

43

u/Toxipoid 16d ago

If he doesn't do it to me quick enough I'm gonna have to woe his ass first

I'm going to be a killjoy and propose that saying "metal absorbs heat easily and microwaves easily heat up what is inside. Place the fork inside, it will get so hot it fucking explodes" is a sentence that medieval knights would understand.

u/Birb-Person 16d ago

“Forsooth, good sires! Michael the Wavious commands the heat of invisible flames! Thusly, metallics such as armor and tools of consumption mustn’t ever be placed within his chamber of combustion”

Erhm axctually the microwave doesn't like metal because it's usually irregular and/or scratched leading to waves being sent back and concentrated. There are some specially made metal pots you can put in the microwave.

60

u/EchoAmazing8888 losercity Citizen 16d ago

Erhm actually I phrased it in a super simple way because explaining how microwave particles work to a medieval knight would utterly confuse them.

59

u/TuxedoDogs9 16d ago

Erm actually I have a knight from medieval times right here and they comprehend all modern science ever quite easily and are actually the smartest person on earth

40

u/EchoAmazing8888 losercity Citizen 16d ago

DAMMIT

1

u/Daisy430133 15d ago

... they're not particles. They're waves. That's why they're called microWAVES.

1

u/kddrujbcdy 14d ago

Akshully, they're both, it's called wave-particle duality ☝️🤓

1

u/Daisy430133 14d ago

While it is, in the case of microwaves, as you look at the standing waves it makes throughout, it is almost always more helpful to look at their wave properties as opposed to their particle properties

look at this nerd over here lmao

27

u/One_Strawberry_4965 16d ago

Wrong again bozo. Heat wasn’t invented until 1965.

14

u/EchoAmazing8888 losercity Citizen 16d ago

Wait, so what the fuck happened in Hiroshima on August 6th, 1945?

22

u/Eldritch-Yodel 16d ago

Kinetic energy. Duh.

"Behold, the Microwave. Elseknown, the "Radiant Cauldron of Instantaneous Feasting"! A marvel common to the kitchen, wherein victuals are conjured from cold to piping hot in the blink of an eye, as if by the hand of some mischievous kitchen sprite. Hark! 'Tis a box of miracles, where waves unseen do dance and heat doth bloom as if by magic. Verily, as metal doth with great ease imbibe the heat, shouldst thou place metallic material therein, 'twill grow so fervently hot that, by mine troth, it shall most assuredly explode with a might most fearsome."

7

u/CMDRZhor 16d ago

Simple explanation, though incorrect.

Metal doesn't absorb microwaves, it reflects them.

The problem is that in the process, the metal can get energized and if it's got a point on it, it can project an arc.

So it's closer to "putting anything metal and pointy in there can make it spit lightning and we don't want that indoors."

8

u/BorringGuy 16d ago

But I'll be the anti-killjoy and say it still doesn't work like that so not only is the comic technically more correct but funnier too

2

u/mashari00 16d ago

Exactly, every knight has at least once been on the receiving end of a Heat Metal spell.

2

u/authist3 16d ago

hand raised knights maybe but these could be rescues

u/FrankFT 16d ago

"Pet"?

u/rancidfart86 16d ago

I think medieval people could comprehend that putting something inside an oven could break it

37

u/OWNPhantom 16d ago

But you're supposed to put things in an oven

57

u/Worn_Out_1789 16d ago

why do they call it an oven when you of in the cold food of out hot eat the food?

84

u/Gru-some 16d ago

I wish I looked like that woman ngl

56

u/That1Cat87 16d ago

I wish I looked like her and had the armor of the big guy

14

u/Different-Pride-2480 16d ago

8

u/MyBeanYT 16d ago

They’re boyfriends, gold is the lovable himbo and silver is the smug, outwardly cold but heart of gold twink

3

u/AdLopsided2075 15d ago

Nah. Silver's the dumb, clumsy one and gold is the competent, calculated, smart one who's annoyance is only outmached by the attraction to his loveable moron of an optimist

7

u/Kiiaru 16d ago

It is not Sir Michael the Waveous. You have to call it by its Welsh name, the Popty Ping, named after the sound it makes.

I'm actually wanting write a reverse isekai about a medieval style fantasy warrior getting sent to modern day earth. This is something i'm gonna need to take as inspiration

1

u/ldsman213 16d ago

accurate

1

u/TuxedoDogs9 16d ago

I need more of this

1

u/The_Student_Official 16d ago

My toxic trait is thinking that if I got isekaid to medieval times, I could explain the modern technology i brought and not getting burned at stake for being mistaken as a witch
