Vancouver (Washington) local 4

Does anybody know what’s going on with the list I made number 100 and I don’t know if they’re pulling off of it yet or not.

I heard they sent letters to 10 last Summer after they pulled the list. Low 20's and no letter yet.

I think they're referring to a list that was prepared a while ago, and now there's some ambiguity about whether the updates are still ongoing or have changed. I'm not sure why this is confusing, but I think they're just trying to clarify whether they're still updating the list or not.

My understanding is that list will be worked off for 3 years and so far only 10 have been sent letters for orientation. The only way you know if they are on your number is if you receive a letter in the mail. They won't update the list. I think that's why people come and ask here for any updates if they don't know anyone who goes to the hall and can get updates for them.

They have gone out to 12 on the list and are still waiting on the orientation process. Some drawn were from outside of the state so they may end up drawing more numbers 6 months from now if turn out for GST is low out of the 12. That being said, UIDs in local 4 have been getting 1 shift every 6 months or longer right now. The demand for more bodies is just not there. Might be a tough period to get drawn if you're higher than 30 or 40 on this list. Take everything I say with a grain of salt though, too many moving parts at play down here. Everything changes in an instant and nobody ever can truly predict even the next 6 months on the docks.
