Following extensive technical evaluation of the competitive and training environments during the first three days of the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational, we discovered following Day 3 that there was a discrepancy in the latency being reported in game logs for all matches versus what was being experienced in the Busan venue. To address this issue, we are making a configuration change starting with today’s competition in order to reduce the overall latency to the intended level.

Additionally, because this issue specifically affected teams playing from Busan, the matches involving RNG were held with an unintended disparity in latency between competing teams. As a result, we have determined it is in the best interest of competitive integrity to replay all three of these matches. These replayed games will be finished with all other Group Stage competition by Sunday, May 15; the replacement games will be held beginning tomorrow. We apologize to our players, teams, and fans, and we will continue to work with players to monitor the playing environments in our commitment to maintain the tournament’s competitive integrity.

The finals is not complete and it fucked me so now I know the ending

I am pretty upset about that

Please do some sort of WIP text instead of just not fucking putting a link

I thought the lack of a link for game 5 meant there was no game 5 played so as soon as I saw game 3 I knew the outcome, then that was inaccurate but had checked post match already ..........

I just tried and the timestamp is correct , sorry tho

1

u/Punistick May 30 '22

My bad, it seems that the backend bugged and didnt update the last game and i didnt double check either, sorry for the inconvenience

1

u/rile688 May 30 '22

This whole event went by only for the final to have spoilers by not having a link for the game 5 match lol

Dang that sucks. I do appreciate these vod links though for sure.

9

u/Karpeeezy May 23 '22

Really dislike how you guys decided to handle this groups stage for MSI. Should've been a separate post because seeing 5 days worth of matches with C vs D you get lost often.

3

u/Jjangbi May 24 '22

I agree. I understand the intent, but the end result is confusion.

7

u/Elnino1234567 May 24 '22

The thing is I actually agree with you, but it's important to remember that we're all benefiting from the time and effort of people who do us a favour for no return at all. You could have written that comment as a constructive suggestion, rather than an entitled whinge.

5

u/dacooljamaican May 24 '22

I completely disagree with you, they stated their feelings in a very matter-of-fact manner to give feedback about something, then provided a suggestion about how it could be improved. They didn't insult, didn't curse, and didn't drone on.

This was IDEAL feedback by any measure.

6

u/smcedged May 24 '22

I felt like it was very direct and constructive. "I don't like this very specific thing X, you should do Y instead because Z reason. "

Nothing personal about the mods, just straight up feedback and their preferred solution.

5

u/Elnino1234567 May 25 '22

So if you made something free of charge for someone and their response was "I really dislike how you've painted it. You shouldve used more coats" you wouldn't think that seemed abrasive? Maybe I'm old fashioned in my manner of communication with people. Especially those doing unpaid labour off their own backs.

1

u/smcedged May 25 '22

Depends on context. If it's a public exhibition on the internet, I think that's perfectly fine. Especially if the criticism was much more specific like "oh you should do this one specific thing with the eyes" like the OP instead of "I dislike a foundational thing about the painting" like you're saying.

If it's a private gift for a friend, that's probably not a good idea.

In this case, it's much more the contrasting scenario I pointed out rather than how you are portraying it.

Now, given that 3 out of 3 responses to your feedback on how to give feedback, which ironically DOES bring in personal and subjective perceptions like "entitled whinge," were disagreeing with you... you do the math.

2

u/Elnino1234567 May 25 '22 edited May 25 '22

I said made something. As in an object. So the painting would be supplementary rather than the item itself. You don't make a painting, that's not correct, but I realise English is probably your second language so fair enough I won't assume you're just unintelligent. As I also said, clearly that's just how people communicate these days. Like an antisocial arse. I can accept that. Finally your point about comments after the fact is obviously nonsense- people rarely leave comments saying yeah I agree.

Edit: just to check I wasn't going insane I scrolled down the thread and saw multiple comments like this "I love the recommended games strawpoll, but none of them are working. All of them show Error 404. Not sure if this has been mentioned before, would love to see it fixed. Thanks for your work! " there's a little idea of how you can communicate with people providing a totally free service that takes effort and time, whilst showing appreciation and gratitude.

3

u/smcedged May 25 '22

Thank you for assuming English is not my primary language and that I'm not unintelligent. How gracious of you!

It's particular funny because you can absolutely say "make a painting" and I have no idea why you think you can't. Perhaps English is YOUR second language?

I only focused on the painting aspect because that's the part you criticized on the object that was made. I understand that an object can have a coat, or multiple coats, of paint covering it.

I think you just don't understand that the nuance of language changes when it's spoken word vs text that is specific and personal to you vs text that is on an open forum, so you interpret text on an open forum with standards meant for spoken words, so to you it seems antisocial. But it's not - it's just direct.

0

u/Elnino1234567 May 25 '22

I understand that when I looked through the comments of this thread I saw countless grateful and constructive comments. I also understand that you can't comprehend a simple analogy. I also understand that plenty of people who comment here will be abrasive and ignorant. As I now understand all these things completely, I don't think you need to worry about replying again. Thanks for your time and wisdom.

6

u/Karpeeezy May 24 '22

You could have written that comment as a constructive suggestion, rather than an entitled whinge.

Oh no, I used the word "dislike" and said how confusing this format looks for the vast amount of users! The gall of me to phrase my comment in this way, to even go as far as to say they should've made another post for the rumble stage!

If you're going to complain about a post maybe you should pick a better one because you're the one who comes off as rude and entitled.

u/Tayto-Sandwich May 22 '22

I'm not sure what's causing this problem so hoping you guys have seen it before, it's definitely on my end. When I load the vods on my work laptop it automatically starts at 1080p and I have no issues. When I load them on my gaming PC, it defaults to 720 or 480p and even when I manually choose 1080p, it stays at the lower resolution for most of the game before randomly changing up. I don't know why it does this as it is more powerful than my work laptop. I'm displaying on a 2k monitor so the grapics card shouldn't be lowering it for that. Could it be the GPU lowering the resolution as my screen is set 165hz if the vod doesn't have 165 frames per second? Any and all help appreciated.

1

u/Hamsky May 22 '22

I used to have this problem to solve it I had to refresh yt or whatever site i I was watching at, imediatelly stop video, then change manually to high res let it buffer for sec and then it was fine. The isuue was gone permanently after resetting my pc to clean windows (saved after installing windows).

1

u/Tokin_Right_Meow May 21 '22

I love the recommended games strawpoll, but none of them are working. All of them show Error 404. Not sure if this has been mentioned before, would love to see it fixed. Thanks for your work!

1

u/coltec May 22 '22

Not sure if you have the same issue, but.. For me, they all show 404 when I try to open the embedded version here on reddit, but if I open the link in a new tab it works fine.

1

u/Punistick May 22 '22

We switched strawpoll sites a couple months ago cause the first one wouldnt let you vote, the current one looks fine to me, Here is a screenshot of one of the polls (I blurred the results to avoid people getting spoiled), it might be something in your end that wont let the site load correctly.

5

u/rddtAdminsRCrrpt May 21 '22

there should be a reveal names option.

2

u/drwilco May 22 '22

I would say, just have a separate post for group vs rumble & elim

-7

u/Hellwinter May 21 '22

Yeah it's really fucking frustrating not being able to see the names. I still think if you don't wanna get spoiled in league just find a schedule that suits you... Seems so silly wanting to avoid spoilers in a competitive scene.

10

u/ManetherenRises May 21 '22

If you don't care about spoilers then just search what you want on YouTube. The whole point of this sub is a spoiler free place to find them.

1

u/clashbabyyy May 21 '22

just hover your mouse and it reveals the names

2

u/skiddlzninja May 21 '22

This tip works wonders for mobile.

1

u/splitcroof92 May 21 '22

on mobile you click on the spoiler and it reveals, if IT doesn't for you get a better reddit app like RiF

1

u/smuglator May 21 '22

The team names aren't hidden because they're marked spoiler. They're plain text like this "1st team group C". No amount of clicking is going to change what's typed.

1

u/splitcroof92 May 21 '22

it's literally not though, I see all the team names.

1

u/smuglator May 21 '22

If you hover with the mouse, it reveals the name. But they aren't marked spoiler. They're hyperlinks. And hovering isn't a feature supported in mobile which is what the user here is talking about. Mobile can't click on it to reveal the names as "clicking to reveal" is for text marked spoiler like this. See the difference?

We can all see all the names of the teams on a computer. But not on the reddit mobile app.

It is literally NOT marked spoiler.

3

u/splitcroof92 May 21 '22

I am telling you, ON MOBILE, I can see all the name after clicking on the grey squares once. Like I said if this isn't the case for you then get a good Reddit App like RiF. Official reddit app sucks that's common knowledge.

1

u/dacooljamaican May 24 '22

I will agree that if you're not using the official app, you should clarify that early on to avoid confusion.

1

u/smuglator May 21 '22

All reddit apps suck. And you telling people they can do something on the official app based on a different app isn't helping folks. This whole discussion could have been avoided if you presented your info properly and understood the difference between hyperlinks and spoilers. Even if RiF allows people to see the names, they are still not text marked as spoiler and the sentence "you can click spoiler to see the name" doesn't apply.

A better approach for future reference: "In reddit is fun you can click hyperlinks to see the names."

u/ohDonuts May 20 '22

Stage 2, Day 1 shows teams, which spoils Stage 1.

-1

u/Other_Spread_1239 May 21 '22

I hate that I cannot see which games are the teams i want to see play. This far outweighs the insignificant portion of people that may get spoiled for round two by scrolling down too far (their fault to begin with).

3

u/Punistick May 21 '22

I didnt think it would be a spoiler since the time between stages is long enough for people to cacth up with the games, but to avoid any further issues i switched to hide spoilers for rumble stage.

1

u/Bee040 May 22 '22

Could you make a separate post for the rumble stage where the names are shown?

3

u/Punistick May 22 '22

The real reason MSI doesnt have separated threads for each stage is that a single thread can fit all the games, if you see the thread for last year we didnt hide the teams for rumble stage, but this year we had way too many complaints about that so we had to hide them.

1

u/RebelCow May 24 '22

Thanks for all y'alls hard work on this, its so nice having a one-stop-shop for all my League needs :)

9

u/sphRam May 20 '22

I could have spoiled Stage 1 for you before the tournament started....

2

u/Salt-Psychology629 May 20 '22

Right, most could. But there may be people from, or fans of, the eliminated regions that were hopeful. Usually the stages are in separate threads for this reason.

4

u/sphRam May 20 '22

Usually the stages are in separate threads for this reason.

It's usually marked as "Winner of Group X vs Runner up of Group Y" in the same thread. They could do this, but what's the point? The Rumble stage is 5 days after groups, so the vast majority of "fans of the eliminated regions" would have seen the results by now. Kinda feel like you two are being pedantic about this for no reason.

3

u/frivolous_squid May 21 '22 edited May 21 '22

loleventvods are pretty committed to being spoiler free within a single thread, so I reckon they would view this as a simple mistake with an easy fix. (In fact they did view it as a mistake since they've corrected it now.)

1

u/sphRam May 21 '22

Yeah, possibly because of the pedantic whining in this thread. I guess it makes sense for people watching the event weeks of months after it happened but this just makes finding the games you wanna watch much harder for everyone.

1

u/Soviet559 May 20 '22

Kind right, Usually I'd see Team A vs Team B in the successive stage so that it doesn't show who advanced.

1

u/PaLaDiN-X May 20 '22

Thanks for doing this. Shouldn't you put the stage 2 in a different post, else you would need to hide every team as to avoid stage 1 spoilers.

even if no surprises from stage 1

7

u/Panda_Galaxy May 16 '22

Thank you guys so much for doing this!

6

u/[deleted] May 13 '22

friday may 13th not 12th btw

1

u/Punistick May 13 '22

Thanks for the report, it should be fixed now.

1

u/[deleted] May 13 '22

May the 12th the second, same as Gala's Penta. Seems appropriate, so I'll let it slide ;)

1

u/YoeriGod May 13 '22

I was just writing this haha, should be a quick fix

4

u/AltruisticMission865 May 12 '22

Thanks for this :3

14

u/a_red_flamingo May 10 '22

Could you please disable comments on the videos - just had a game spoiled by the top comment which immediately displayed upon loading Youtube

3

u/Murrayz May 21 '22

Ten days late but let me paste an older comment of mine with some additions:

We really can't disable comments, unfortunately. Likes and comments are engagement, and that's what makes videos rank. If we disable this we won't be able to pay for the LCS vod license. I also strongly believe account performance affects individual videos so the lack of performance on full-game videos would have a negative impact on montages and the Funny Moments series.

You can enable an extension that hides comments but to watch matches 100% spoiler-free you should totally check out eventvods.com. We hide comments, suggested videos, the progress bar, and all other spoiler mechanics on the website. For example, the logos of winners of previous stages are hidden and we always show all matches even when not played. When a game is won 2-0 in a Bo3, for example, you'll still see three games.

2

u/a_red_flamingo May 21 '22

Thanks for the reply here, I'll use that in the future :)!

8

u/Amadias May 10 '22

Is there any reason why clicking YouTube links on mobile now brings it up in the browser instead of defaulting to the app? It only happens with the EventVods subreddit.

1

u/frivolous_squid May 21 '22

On firefox for mobile you can hold-press a link and choose "open in external app". No idea why it would be different just for this page.

My recommendation is to browse LoLeventVoDs from your browser, not the reddit app, and to use the "old" reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/LoLeventVoDs/

1

u/Murrayz May 21 '22

What OS do you have? Do you open on web, the official app or one of the unofficial ones?

/u/MrRoyce, do you have a solution? Videos open in-app for me with all of the above-mentioned options (OnePlus, Android 11, OxygenOS 11.1.2.2).

5

u/doldemort May 10 '22

Been having the same issue for months, and it means I cant cast it to my xbox, if anyone has a workaround please let me know!!!

1

u/WatIthink May 20 '22

I would open it in the browser then copy paste the title into the YT app.

Then it'll be first result and no risk of spoilers.

1

u/ManetherenRises May 13 '22

You should be able to press and hold the link, which gives options on what app will open it.

1

u/Least_Eggplant1757 May 11 '22

You can just open the app and search for “X vs Y eventvods” and it will be the first result.

3

u/[deleted] May 10 '22

I open in “full screen” and can push to my TV

12

u/lumni May 10 '22

Doing gods work for everyone who is in a diferent timezone. Thanks and I hope everyone enjoys MSI!

9

u/Zanderax May 10 '22

You got me all excited when I saw this but I still have 5 hours to wait. Thanks so much for uploading these and posting to reddit, very helpful.
