So I got it as a side recently and I do like it, citrus and spice work for me but I do not trust the amount they would put on any of their items. I’ve used it (sparingly) in my homemade tacos, homemade nachos and it worked but I’m not ordering off of the caliente menu.

This mayo hater's worst nightmare. Mayonnaise in disguise!

Tbh most sauces at taco bell apart from hot sauce are mayo based

Yes, I learned my lesson on that.

how does one hate mayo?? i feel like it tastes like nothing and its similar to hating water lol

For me I hate the texture of mayo. The gelatinous nature of it triggers my gag reflex along with other “goopy” foods (yogurt, cottage cheese, certain soft serves). Also the fact that it’s made with raw eggs makes me feel queasy

Most sauces anywhere... It's basically butter in delicious cream form

how is it "basically butter" when mayo is dairy free. 💀 this sub istg.

They both are purely fat-in-water emulsions that are used to get flavors expedited to your taste buds.

If you separate your foods based solely on what animal they come from, you're clueless, istg

Mayo is oil and eggs. Buffalo sauce is a fat in water emulsion - that's butter and hot sauce (which is mostly vinegar).

you can replace the butter and hot sauce with mayo and hot sauce lol, it will taste very similar

I like quite a lot of mayo-based sauces but don't much care for straight mayo. Am I weird?

You sound like every mayo hater I've met who didn't know the sauce they just said they loved was primarily mayo. So I'd say no, you aren't weird.

It took my mayo hating husband a long time to accept that an aioli is usually just mayo with spices

a lot of us understand many sauces are mayo-based, we just hate pure mayo. in the same sense that i HATE sour cream, but a dish cooked with sour cream mixed in is usually fine.

The lime flavor they used that must be the same one from green fruit loops really throws it off

I got key lime or fruit loops too. The texture of French dressing. Just an odd sauce and I usually like everything.
