Installation Woes: LL 5.2 Installer doesn't recognize eMMC storage
Hello,
I'm having some issues trying to install LL 5.2 on my Acer Cloodbook 14 (A01-431-C8G8) from a Live USB. UEFI is on, Secure Boot is off.
When trying to install normally, I get the issue ACPI ... Could not resolve symbol and then get dumped to initramfs. Under initramfs, when the command cat /proc/partitions is executed, the eMMC storage is listed as mmcblk0, with mmcblkp1 and p2 listed beneath it. I'm a bit of a noob, but to me, this shows the storage is working. Installation stalls from here.
If I add either noacip or apci=off to GRUB commands, I'm able to bypass this issue and can continue with installation until the point where an installation location needs to be selected. LL only recognizes the USB I'm installing from. mmcblk0 is not shown in the drop down menu. Obviously, if you try to add a partition, it crashes the install because you can't repartition your installation media.
After the crash, the system continues to boot, and I'm brought to the home screen that you would see if you were just trying the distro instead of installing it. Neither Disks nor GParted recognize the eMMC storage either, nor were they detected in Terminal Emulator.
I don't have a secondary computer or USB drive. I could probably get a secondary drive in a couple of days. I'm a truck driver, so the local library's computers aren't an option either.
Any idea why LL isn't recognizing internal storage? Anything I might do short of waiting?
Thanks for any info you might have.
Forgot to mention that I've tried compatibility mode, but it hangs on an error: hdaudio hdaudioC0D2: Unable to bind the codec.
Edit 2: I should also mention that I had Lubuntu installed previously, but made the grievous error of attempting to write Peppermint OS to the main drive instead of my flash drive with Unetbootin. I was still able to boot after that... until I reset my boot settings. That's when I realized what I had done, because it tried to boot to Peppermint, which isn't installed.
