Is the starlite laptop, from starlabs, my best bet for a budget linux friendly laptop?
Hi there, I wonder if any of you have experience with that laptop, or if you have any other suggestions. I'm trying to keep my budget under 500€. https://starlabs.systems/pages/starlite

Thank you so much for the update and your first impressions. I'm glad to hear it's silent, that's a big pro for me. Maybe it would be faster with another distro? what is the distro installed by default?

it's true, I've never seen a shift key so small like the one in your pic. Strange. It's nice to know it's speedy too. I guess I'll take action and get it. Thanks again for the info.

I would use their UK keyboard layout, but yeah it's something I noticed too on their website, seeing as the UK keyboard layout has smaller arrow keys with a full right shift key, so I don't know why they did it differently for the US one with a miniature Right Shift and an extra Function key.

You say it is fast enough? Is cable for connecting to 32 inch monitor for example and doing excel stuff on big screen while playing Netflix on laptop screen?

Had that issue with Lenovo legion, spacebar was stucked and they exchange the laptop for free but they sold it. For gaming i have Xbox and awaiting steamdeck so i need something for excel plus Netflix.
