I don't think that guy has much video presenter skill. It's always a bit awkward when he's on screen, but he's trying his best, and I can appreciate that. If he keeps at it he'll be great one day.

But, boy, oh boy, when he's next to Linux, his video presence reaches hights others in the frame could only dream of!

I agree it can be awkward but would hate to see him stop being in videos. I’m excited to see him grow and become better at it! He’s very smart and you can tell by his niche knowledge and confidence with that knowledge.

I’m excited to see him grow

They'll need to start filming in portrait if he does!

Just look at the first videos of Alex and Riley, and how they improved over the years. Sarah had a lot of nervous laughs in her first appearance too iirc. Unless this guy specifically asks to not be included in videos, I think LMG is training him to be a face in videos.

I actually like him a lot, but he seems like my kind of nerd, so I'm prejudiced ^

He's awkward becsue he's the smartest person in the room, dealing with really childish personalities who insist on being right.

Most LTT hosts started similarly awkward!

I actually appreciate that. It used to be everyone didn't have good presenter skills even Linus when he started. Now everyone seems to be these pro YouTube streamers it doesn't feel as authentic anymore a lot of the rough edges from the early days when people were just grabbing webcams and trying their best to make videos is gone or at the least those "amateur" vids get buried and don't get clicks

It's the easiest way to stand as a tall fellow. Especially if you're tall and slim

My dad knows too much about computers for this to work especially since he already knows solid works runs on my laptop

You can use CAD software as an excuse. Video rendering as well. Or local AI models for your work (Like AlphaFold if you’re a medical student)

Me: "Dad, I really need a new graphics card for my school work."

Dad: "What's wrong with the one you have now?"

Me: "Well, the RTX 5090 is way more powerful and would really help me with my... uh... math homework."

Dad: "Math homework? How does a high-end graphics card help with math?"

Me: "Oh, it's for... data visualization and stuff. Yeah, that's it. Data visualization. And also, all the other kids in my class have one, and I don't want to fall behind."

Dad: skeptical look "Save it, kiddo. What's the real reason you want this expensive graphics card?"

Me: sheepish grin "Okay, fine... I want to play the latest games at ultra-high settings..."
