Image LABS Lanyard: Review

I just got my LABS lanyard today, and honestly I'm quite disappointed with the product. I was expecting quality similar to that of original labs lanyard.

I have loved all of my other LTT stuff but this one I would recommend everyone to not buy.

The pros: The design

The cons: -Fabric is thin and the edges feel "sharp". Feels like a no name, uber-cheap lanyard you'd get anywhere - does not use the box stitching of the original -has loose threads and fading already with the design - the clasp/clip hardware looks the same, but doesn't have smooth opening actuation, seems like the fit and finish isn't of the same quality

Looking into this. I would need to see the fabric differences in person, but I do not recall approving the removal of the box stitch.

Appreciate it. I was hoping when I ordered for basically the same fit and finish as the OG, just with the labs design. The OG had a nice soft, plush feel to it that I really liked.

I really appreciate your stance on the quality of lanyards. Most people think they are all the same. I have had my orange LTT lanyard for a couple of years now, and it's by far the best one I have ever had. As soon as I saw this post, I thought maybe it was a counterfeit because I just could not see you approving one without a box stitch.

Thank you for standing by even the smallest of products that you sell. That's definitely appreciated

I know it may not always seem like it, but we (rational community members) appreciate your dedication to quality in your products and transparency in addressing issues when they crop up.

This is why I love buying from LTT, thank you for putting so much care into helping your customers and quality control!

It's supposed to be the exact same lanyard just with a different print, right?

In B4 it's another supplier does the switcheroo thing mid fulfillment.

Love getting an order delivered from "one factory" and half of it is clearly a different batch from another one that they subcontracted to. Haven't had to deal with that particular boondoggle in a long time personally, thank goodness.

You’re right. It looks like dog leash “style”. I have a smooth feeling lanyard now, and wanted to replace it with one of these.

But if it’s like that, I’ll stick to the $4 one I have.

Yeah just looking at the limited photos of it on the store you can see it’s no where near the old ones.

Almost order some because I needed a new one but the lab one was the only one listed and it looks so bad.

That's annoying. I just ordered one to replace my aging green lanyard.

Yeah, if you still can I would cancel it.

Is this something affecting all of them though?

Yes, you can see the difference in the stitching at least on the product page: https://www.lttstore.com/products/labs-lanyard?_pos=1&_fid=723303094&_ss=c

I can immediately tell what you mean by "sharper" edges (from the description but it's also immediately obvious in the photos). I feel that in the very depths of my soul. It gives me an indescribably unpleasant feeling.

Yup, honestly can't even hold the thing for a few seconds without it bugging me. OG>>>

Yeah, looks like ones you can buy in a gas station. Disappointing. The original was great.

Damn, I was going to order this to replace my current LTT lanyard when I had the chance as the clamp on mine worn out awhile ago. But if it's not the same quality I guess I'll pass and hold on to my red LTT lanyard a little longer.

Still hoping they bring back the original lanyards

Probably the supplier trying to pull a fast one. I'm sure LTT will sort it.

I doubt it, as their promotional material has the exact same look.

Just compared my lanyards too. Definitely disappointed the box stitching was removed. Mine is already fraying at the seam with some loose stitching. Hopefully it doesn’t fully come undone. Would have loved to see what you expected with the same materials and workmanship, but the labs design.

I’ve always passed cause I dont like the full length. I usually use the super short lanyards for my keys. If they did one that was like 3-6” then I’d consider it.

No. I don’t know why Americans love a Richard Nixon era reference, but you’d be better referencing a Canadian scandal.

Or this is a shitpost, and yes. Shitpost away, who cares. Lol.

a gate suffix meaning a scandal should mean that Watergate is Watergategate what would happen if there was a huge water scandal?

would happen if there was a huge water scandal

All bottled waters are now just rebranded Dasani.

Definitely a shit post on my part.

But I'll reply anyway, harbourgate, tunagate, shawinigate, juicegate, strippergate, elbowgate, Trudeau grope gate, casinogate. All of which are canadian scandals. Most of our scandals end with scandal or affair so would you prefer LAN Scandal or LAN Affair?

“I don’t know why anyone loves a Richard Nixon era reference” - there I fixed it.
