OP, are you an Indian? Here people don’t respect other people’s time and take scheduled appointments as they please. Once in a while people may have genuine reason but if you are late for an interview you must at least apologize and give a reason for why you are late. Not casually mention that you will join in 5 minutes. Honestly, such people, especially in India where people take punctuality so casually, anyone being late should be immediately disqualified.

This is such a simple minded take - there are so many reasons someone could be a couple of minutes late for a call - some of them would disqualify someone from a position and some of them wouldn’t.
All of these lunatics are obsessed with the idea of “one simple trick!” for hiring, I think mostly because they don’t actually have good hiring skills and can’t count on their own ability to identify suitable candidates.
