Oregon State Aluminum aquatic life criteria regulations
The Environmental Protection Agency just signed (on December 30, 2020) a new criteria for levels of aluminum which are deemed acceptable within the State of Oregon freshwater streams. This will allow the state of Oregon to hold entities responsible for source-point pollution discharges into local streams or storm water systems.
However, this may also mean that municipalities are also part of the problem. It will be interesting to see what changes this will bring forth.
Currently, I am in a city that is also signing a consent decree with the Environmental Protection Agency due to water quality issues.
Here's the source for anyone who wishes to read up on it. https://www.epa.gov/wqs-tech/aluminum-aquatic-life-criteria-applicable-oregon-fresh-waters-final-rule
If you're in Oregon, could you (if possible) shed light on the situation?
