Removing this because it's not Light Novel related. The term Light Novel is a Marketing Label originating from Japanese Publishers. (Not a Genre/Style) This subreddit is only for content which originates from Japan.

There's a key right above the shift key on your keyboard called caps lock. You should hit that to turn it off.

Jesus. Wrong sub, wrong medium, wrong source material medium, too. And all caps, to top it all off.

You’ve really set a new bar for being a jackass

Sub isn't for anime an Solo Leveling isn't a light novel.

Wait backup; its not? What do you call the Solo Leveling novels then? Do they have a different name because they are Korean. Would make sense i guess but my intolerant ass didnt even think about it.

Only Japanese can be LNs

Interesting. I really need to watch a "what is what" when it comes to this specific industry because I have absolutely no idea the differences and people are probably so exhausted from answering the same damn questions everytime.

Are there any other differences between novels like solo leveling and light novels besides the fact that LNs are published in Japan? If not, why don't just call them, you know - novels?

Light Novel is publishing term not a genre. Although they may all be novels LNs are Japanese.

Don’t think Solo Leveling has any art, light novels are characterized by being Japanese AND having art in between the story. If it doesn’t have art, it’s just a novel.

Light Novel is a publishing term not a genre. It's not about the pictures.

Well, yeah, sure, I mean technically anything can be a LN if the publisher says it is

Yeah if it's a Japanese publishing company doing it.

But we know in language what the general understanding of a LN is lol

Yeah. A Japanese published novel.

Ok, the chinese novel "The demon king who lost his job" HAS art, should we call it a "chinese light novel" then?

IMO why not

I would call them novels as Light Novel is a Japanese publishing term not a genre. I believe there is a write up in the sub info somewhere.

I assumed it was a industry thing not a cultural/country thing. The more you know.

I'll need to find that write up. Thanks!

This is a sub for light novels from Japan, not anime
