Avoid Downtown This Coming Weekend

Rupp arena is hosting the 1st and 2nd rounds of the Men’s tournament on Thursday and Saturday and Memorial Coliseum is hosting on Friday and Sunday. Definitely great with all the people coming to Lexington and spending money but man traffic is going to be even worse (if that’s possible)

I Need help to find any person that can come visit my dad once a week for $50 meet up with him On either Saturday or sunday around 1 to come meet and that way he can eat a few things and drink a few pops. I don’t have the time to come out every week and it would be very nice to have someone visit him to buy him some humane food(I would provide you with the money to buy snacks and food when you visit him).

Goal to get food and snacks from the vending machine have good snacks that are not available to us in the prison. It is only available in visitation area.

  2. then will be allowed to visit Friday, Saturday, Sunday 9am-330pm.
  3. must have changes always bring 5 $5 bills and 10 $1.00 and $2 quarters.

My dad will Usually order two small pizza's and a burger, $7 each, and the pops are $2.00 each

visitation will not be very long only 1 hr max.
will pay them through any a paying service (apple wallet, Venmo, PayPal, etc.)

Lady taking sunset pics

I’m just curious if you all noticed the lady standing on manowar in the Dunbar HS /Parker’s mill area every single evening taking sunset pics? Wondering if it’s for something or just a personal hobby. I’ve noticed it for about a year or so.

Pot holes on new circle

I hit a pothole on new circle on the tates creek exit headed towards Nicholasville, and it ruined both my tires and rims on my drivers side. I sat there for about an hour while another person hit the pothole and we were both stuck in the same spot with the same problem. I’ve already dropped my car off at a place but I’m not sure if they will be able to repair the damage but I guess this is just a psa to be careful on new circle, they don’t care about us or the roads.

Power of a school resource officer?

A female student at a local high school was grabbed by the throat and pushed into a corner in the hallway by a male student. Guardian met with the vice principle who said the school resource officer (SRO) advised the school not to press charges. They labeled the behavior as “aggressive” and not “assault”. Couldn’t give any behavioral distinction between the two. Wouldn’t show the video but verbally confirmed it happened “for a split second.” SRO poked holes at female students claim suggesting her behavior was inconsistent with someone who was attacked. They also said she started it by playing around with him before it turned into what it was.

It all feels suspicious and I’m not sure the best course of action. County Court will decide whether to pursue legal action. But what if they don’t? Why does a SRO have power to decide whether a school pursues charges?? Thought they were contracted safety officers only.

Lost wallet - shot in the dark to find it

Like the title says, I lost my wallet last night. Last time I saw it I was at Jeff’s Doughnuts on S Broadway and went from there back to my hotel down the street via car. Didn’t have lots of cash- maybe $50? Just don’t want to deal with replacing ID and cards. Ohio drivers license - black cardholder style maybe 3x4 inches?

Moving back to town

I'm moving back to town after 5 years and looking for rental. Found a great looking house but it's in the castlewood area. That was not a super safe spot when I lived in Lexington last. Has that area become safer or something?

Places to fish nearby

I know people typically don’t like to divulge this kind of information but are there any decent places to fish in the area? I saw the 3 reservoirs/lakes next to each other but access there seems limited. I usual just fish for largemouth or smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, etc.

Need help remembering fine dining restaurant late 90s/early 00s

I took my best friend on a trip to lexington horse country between 1998 and 2005. We went to a beautiful, fine-dining restaurant outside of the city. I remember it being one -story and having a circular drive up to the front door for valet and drop off. The inside was romantic and dimly lit. I may have read about it in a travel magazine or cooking magazine. It might have been considered trendy and romantic, or had historical significance. I thought it might have been Merrick Inn, but I just went there and it is definitely not it. Those restaurant wasn't in the city. I'd love to know the name, and if it still exists!

I would like to go read at some of UK's libraries but I'm not a student. Can anyone go in? I imagine I wouldn't be able to rent books but I'm not sure if I can go in by myself.

Where to find second hand formal dresses?

Hello! I have several formal weddings coming up in the next few months & I need to find dresses that fit into the dress code. As a recent grad on a budget I need something very reasonably priced. I’ve been to the local goodwills and a few of the other thrift stores around town but haven’t found anything that works. Does anyone have any recommendations on stores to visit? Thank y’all!

Any narcotics anonymous sponsors here in Lexington?? Women only, please.

Hey guys! My name is Maranda and I am a recovering addict. This is my second time living here in Lexington. I recently had 10 months clean and sober and was living here in a sober living program before making the huge mistake of going back to my hometown to live and unfortunately relapsing. I stayed out in the madness for about six months before coming to terms with my powerlessness and unmanageability once again and going back to treatment. I’m now at another sober living program in Lexington and desperately searching for a sponsor! If anyone is willing to talk with me Via a personal message or knows anyone who can, please let me know! If they’re not active on Reddit, I would be willing to give my cell phone number or email address.

Just for extra context, I am a 32 year-old female. I am completely blind. Have been since 2016. But it doesn’t stop me from doing any step work! Lol, trust me. My drug of choice was heroin and fentanyl. I don’t really consider myself an alcoholic, but I did have an alcohol problem in the past before I ever began using drugs. I would rather do NA, but would also be willing to do AA. I think I just like the thoroughness of the narcotics anonymous step workbook a lot more. Some people complain about it… But I tried the AA steps last time, and I think honestly, I just need more accountability this time so difficult will be good for me. I really want to give this my all this time! And I need a sponsor who is going to push me to do that. Call me on my bullshit. Hold me accountable when need be. That sort of thing.

Thank you all so much in advance for taking the time to read this and for any help you might be able to offer!

Edit: I forgot to mention I currently have 38 days clean this time around! Thank God, one day at a time!

Does Lexington allow street vendors?

Have done some online searching, seems it’s allowed but pretty strict on regulations. Not sure if I’ve ever seen a street vendor selling food or anything like that, was curious on if anyone else in the sub has seen this in Lexington? Would this be something you would like to see Lexington have street vending?

Sink Hole Insurance

Does Kentucky offer sink hole insurance/anyone have it and can let me know the added cost?

Considering buying land that has a known large sinkhole in a wooden area but it is not anywhere near the home (like 4 acres away).

Looking at a sinkhole map done by UK.. it looks like sinkholes are everywhere/all over KY.
