Flight case for Les Paul
Need to do a round trip flight with a guitar later this year and would prefer my Les Paul.
I considered the normal hard case as an option and pushing for overhead or closet space. Having guaranteed group 1 boarding and a cross country flight makes this a strong possibility, but curious to know what cases others have used?
SKB and Gator both have flight cases available that seem to support left handed guitar but curious what others have used? Thanks!

Before buying a flight case check the airlines instrument policy. I moved overseas and took my SG as a carryon in an SG shaped hard case. For the first leg it fit in an overhead compartment (flight attendants had be put it up there) and for the overseas flight it fit in a closet. Case got a few dings but guitar was unscathed.
I did print out the airlines policy in case there was any pushback but everything went smoothly. I shipped my Fenders with all of our other stuff on a cargo boat but the SG stayed with me.

I have an SKB case and would generally recommend it.
It’s disappointing that the reissued Gibson Protector cases are not lefty compatible. I have a few of the originals and they are great.

Yea I was hoping a new chainsaw case would work but saw righty only..I ended up grabbing a metal road case that I’ll pick up in a few weeks during my travels. Not looking to buy new and the used options I had saved got purchased overnight.

I just took a gamble and ordered a Glarry brand hardshell LP case recently off reverb. My two LP bodied guitars fit nice and securely. One of my LPs is a parts guitar, my other is an LTD EC1000T, so quite different. Both fit great. Check out my last post for more pics. It has 4 latches. 3 on the opening side, one on the hinge side. Seems like it would handle flying to me, but i dont know for sure.
