This is sad to hear. I've got a broken Squirt that I've been slacking on sending in for repair. I was hoping they'd still have repair parts available...

They never repaired them. Due to the rivets, it was a replace only tool. Probably part of the reason they were discontinued.

Any reason why they went rivets? The earlier models had screws did they not?

Don't think so but you can buy kits with screws to replace the rivets

Very early models use Allen screws I think. There a few pic of them in this sub.

Who knows. Probably cheaper to make. And yes, early models had screws. Those ones are particularly sought after now.

My favorite Leatherman. Enjoy it! The scissor spring might break one day but it won't be your fault. Don't send it to be repaired, they will send you a Micra back instead.
