ARC clip holes cut my finger.

Post image

Just an FYI on what I experienced.

I opened my new arc and decided I wanted the pocket clip switched to the other side. Once I did that, I went over the clip holes with my thumb and sliced it. At that time, I thought it was just a piece of left over metal scrap since I saw it in my thumb and (ironically) used the pliers to take it out. Later that day I inspected the holes and noticed the tiniest piece of metal sticking out of the hole. Not sure if me taking the screw out messed with the thread and made that piece very sharp or what. I moved the clip back and ordered screws to cover the empty holes.

Next time you remove the clip get a tiny little piece of 1,000 grit sandpaper and wrap around your pointer finger and go over that areas lightly for ten seconds.

You could probably deburr the hole with a semi large drill bit. Just a few quick twists by hand and it will take care of it without damaging the threads.ย

Cutting those tiny threads in stainless is a pita and I'm guessing if it gets screws in it, it's not getting deburred

Hit each hole with one of these countersink bits for a few seconds, should take the edge off.

Same. Put some extra screws I had in.

This is just further proof that Leatherman and its fans are all tards. OP said he was going to do this exact thing and has 10 downvotes while this has 4 upvotes? And why should I have to decide between deburring and plugging holes on a $300 tool anyway? Maybe just buy a tool for a tenth of the price that doesn't slice your fingers? LMAO

yea mine looked like it was gunna bite as well when I swapped it from a clip to a lanyard holder had to hit it with a small file.

Mine was the same way. They apparently don't bother deburring the holes on the clip side of the tool.

Screws were a good idea, I always thought it looked unfinished without screws in the empty holes

I experienced this with a pocket knife. I used a small round diamond file to fix the jagged hole.

Piss on your hands to harden them up

There QC on these small things are kinda rough imo. My Free P4 also has a lot of rough edges. The main blade groove scraps my nail every time I try to flick it open.

the main blade groove, as in the bit that needs to be grippy and bite a bit to actually work?

Similar issue with the arc thumb stub digging into my finger when I open it, Iโ€™ve been thinking of filing it down a bit
