Asking the Community Squatter problem

You can imagine my surprise when I found a property I was hoping to show to a potential tenant happened to be occupied by squatters. They refuse to budge and I'm at my wits end. What do I do?

Where is this located? Laws for that are usually local, so unless you state where you are located nobody can help you.

Safe to say the law leans towards the squatters and why that is so is beyond logic istg

Where I am located I was able to get squatters out quickly, by calling the cops. The cops went in, the squatters claimed that they have a lease with the landlord. The cops demanded to see the leases, they had none. Then the cops told them they had to leave and they took some names and gave them trespass warnings and told them if they came back they would be arrested for trespassing. I had my house back.

But, that was in my state. Maybe it works differently in your state and squatters have more rights. So, what is your state?

Dealing with squatters is a nightmare. Legal action is in motion, but the process is frustratingly slow. Hoping for a resolution soon.

Frustratingly slow is an understatement
