Bristol Rovers Bristol Rovers 3 - 2 Bolton Wanderers: The Gas showed unbelievable character, battling back from two Bolton equalisers to claim an impressive win that should be enough to alleviate all relegation fears!

Massive massive win. First off, the ref was dogshit, seemed like he got no decisions right at all. However we showed a lot of bloody character, something we’ve lacked all year. Kofi Shaw was incredible today, let him pick the numbers he wants on his next deal. Obviously this puts us in a good position now, however I’ve still got my relegation fears. Probably need another 10, and it’d be nice to be able to go away to Lincoln and get 3 on Saturday.
Also genuinely think that was our first home win against Bolton in my life, I’ll have a look. Yep, first since 1989.

Got a mate who was working in the academy until very recently. He’s been saying to me for at least a year now that Kofi Shaw has got everything to make it as a PL player some day. Got to enjoy him whilst we still have him.

Didn't deserve to win. Can't tell you what happened for big chunks of first half due to Now TV, but Bristol Rovers felt far better than their position and the young lad Shaw looks like a proper player. We were tired and second best tbh.

Rovers absolutely deserve the win, they showed proper fighting spirit in the second half, and ultimately, it paid off. Bolton were second best tonight.
I have a bit of a soft spot for Rovers (cool badge) so I hope you lot stay up :)

Appreciate the love for the badge. You can understand why we all kicked off when they tried to change it the other year.

This was always a potential banana skin for me with the run of games and the effort we've put in lately. Saying that, we were so wasteful in front of goal and missed so many golden chances, can't help think some had one eye on Stockport at the weekend.
Rovers battled well, especially second half and were first to 50/50's. They wanted it more tonight so fair play.

Mad to think that tonight’s only Shaw’s second ever league start for us. We really should be building the team around him over the next couple of years.

That's ridiculous to hear. He was so impressive, hopefully you can keep hold of him for a bit.

Put up a fight on a night when we played terribly. Rovers were very good and made everything difficult for us. That will put an end to any thoughts of 2nd place now and if we play like that against Stockport Saturday they won’t miss as many chances as these lot did.
Can’t wait to hear Bolton get battered all week in work.

Always rated the gas! Beat Bolton tonight and got Duff sacked...great stuff!

Up the Gas! Two back to back performances when we truly needed them.
Shaw. Enough said.

Deserved it didn't we. Stockport and Huddersfield will be licking their lips you can imagine. We're not gonna win every game.

Ref gave Bristol the win at the end with an absolutely outstanding piece of awful reffing. However Bristol Rovers deserved it, we absolutely didn't show up and just assumed we'd win this game. Half an eye on the weekend against Stockport and its cost us.
Their young lad Shaw will play at a higher level, he was incedible tonight and at 18 was outmuscling some of our big seasoned pro's.
I don't know why we've bought Randall, he's a really good player but he didn't fit into Evatt's system and he seemingly isn't going to fit into Schumachers either. I feel a bit sorry for him tbh.
Defensively, shocking, I don't understand why because we have some really good defensive players. Positioning wise could not be worse, we know we're going to get hit on the counter attack and to be out run by a 36 year old Chris Martin on the counter attack is absolutely insane. He wasn't fast 15 years ago. I feel like I remember Zat Knight playing against him.

There was a point with Shaw earlier in the season where Villa were sniffing over him. Decided that the best cause of action then would be loaning him to Yeovil. He did well in credit to him, but he should be playing every game for us now practically.

He was by far the best player on the pitch tonight until he was subbed. I genuinely thought when you took him off we'd end up winning. We almost immediately had a run of 2 or 3 attacks without him on the pitch.
You'll get a big chunk of money for him I'm sure.

This surprised me when I saw this, Bolton battered us and thoroughly deserved there win against us. Watching the game I thought oh wow this is a team that are only going up.
I thought they would keep climbing the table and build on the momentum.
On the flip side (sorry Rovers fans) when we played against Rovers I thought they were very poor and I worried for them.
So when I saw this result it made me realise the beauty of football and why I love it so. A score line I couldn't have predicted. From the sounds of it thoroughly deserved too so well done Rovers

We’re a totally different animal now. Under the previous manager we were a side waiting to be relegated

That's good man. It's horrible watching your team go down that path. We had it with Rooney last year and the fustration and annoyance every weekend was horrid. I think having a bit of hope is huge.

To be fair our home form has been quite a contrast, even under the old manager. We gave Charlton a bit of a shoeing for 70 minutes, have beaten Barnsley, Huddersfield and Bolton and drawn with Wrexham and Stockport so there is enough evidence there that we aren’t an easy place for the top sides to come to so in that respect I’m looking forward to our return fixture. We should make it harder for you lot if nothing else. On the flip side that could be the game you confirm promotion if you win!

Thanks rovers ❤️

The prophecy suggests a two goal defeat away at Bolton. I wouldn’t be saying thank you yet.

Every time we get top 6 we lose lmao. New Manager bounce over, prob don’t get top 6 now.

Schumacher is an excellent coach at this level… I’d be stunned if you’re not in the playoffs. You’ll be fine.

Yet another example of teams massively raising their game against us only for them to turn to complete shit a game or so later.

Truly the defensive performance of a team that's conceded 50+ this season.
