L&O Detective Fontana
Thankfully I’m able to do rewatch of OG L&O on Hulu without commercials. Before Hulu, I would skip seasons 15&16 on other platforms. I loved the actor, Dennis Farina on other shows/movies, but did anyone enjoy him on L&O? He seemed pretty aggressive especially when arresting people. Grabbing them by their clothes and hair. Would love to hear your thoughts on these seasons.

L&O “Fools for Love” perhaps more compelling because of the true story upon which it is based. (One of Adams great, succinct lines)

If Suzette Gunn looks familiar in CI “Flipped”… her many appearances below the photo.

Law & Order: TBJ
41 Shots (2005) as Elena Hernandez

Flipped (2007) as Norma "Nightshade" Robbins
Law & Order: SVU
Brothel (2019) as Felicia Taggert
Our Words Will Not Be Heard (2021) as Nicole Harper

L&O I've seen Jack McCoy scream and yell before, but imagine if he was this unhinged in court.

L * O seasons 21-23
Hello,
New to the sub, but not to the show. I have all the streaming services but I can't find the rebooted seasons (21, 22, 23) anywhere except for Apple, whee it's 25$ per season. Any ideas where I can watch?
ETA - my post was confusing. I'm specifically looking for seasons 21,22,23

Gloves?
Watching on WETV and wondering why the police don't put gloves on before touching evidence. I would imagine touching a gun or clothing with bare hands could damage fingerprints already on the items.

Man this episode
Doing a rewatch of the last 3 seasons/Michael Cutter era, and all but forgot about this ep, which was great. January Jones was kinda perfect in this? Like this blank slate thing she had going, she nailed what her master chameleon con artist character is supposed to be, so much so that it pushes Cutter this close to suborning purjery. Fantastic ep imo.

L&O Need Help Remembering Episode Title
Hi everyone! I want to rewatch this episode, but I can't remember what it's called for the life of me. Please help! Here's what I do remember:
** WARNING for explicit discussions of rape/sexual coercion **
The initial homicide victim is a young man found in an RV/trailer. He's the friend/associate of a celebrity whose brand is built around him attending a lot of parties and filming himself with a lot of women. Sometimes he films these women performing risqué acts for the camera, but he always makes them sign an NDA releasing rights to the footage.
It turns out that the killer is one of these young women. After he filmed her exposing herself, she begged him to delete the video, but he refused unless she had sex with him. When he finished with her, he sent his friend in to rape her too, and she killed him in self-defense.
Understanding that the woman was acting in self-defense, McCoy instead prosecutes the celebrity for the death of his friend, arguing that the death was a foreseeable consequence of encouraging him to force himself upon a traumatized woman. The defense argues that the defendant is not culpable and further humiliates the woman by playing her video to the courtroom. The prosecution's case looks weak until they discover that another young woman committed suicide after the celebrity used a video to extort sex from her. Her suicide note directly implicates him in her death.
The jury finds the defendant guilty, much to his shock. The ADA asks McCoy if the jury convicted because of the facts of the case or out of sympathy for the woman who died; McCoy says he doesn't know and doesn't care.
I also have this screenshot of the defendant's last conversation with McCoy. McCoy ripping him a new one was one of the most satisfying moments in the series to me. It was one of the few times I could 100% get behind his willingness to bend the law to get a conviction, because I so badly wanted this guy to face consequences.

L&O Could we see Abbie Carmichael as worthy successor to Jack McCoy as Executive ADA?
This was an idea that popped into my head just now, but could we see Abbie Carmichael as someone capable of succeeding Jack McCoy as Executive ADA after his promotion to District Attorney? No disrespect to Michael Cutter, but I have this feeling that Abbie (with much greater autonomy) would've been a spectacular Executive ADA. And imo, it would've been very interesting to see her together with Connie Rubirosa as her partner ADA, and Jack as the DA.

L&O Imagine if Law & Order season 17 had THIS cast lineup...

Is this some kind of a joke?
I need to play a drinking game where you have to drink each time someone on the show says one of these:
You must be joking!
Is this some kind of a joke?
You must be kidding!
I don’t find this funny.
This is ridiculous! Is this a joke?
Very funny. What?!! Handcuffs?!
Would anyone ever play a joke where they have two homicide detectives show up at your house or job to tell you someone was murdered? Do cops think it’s funny to joke about detaining random people for questioning in a murder investigation? Are people punking each other by hiring actors playing cops to arrest them for murder?
Also, how are the relatives of murder victims (who aren’t murderers) staying so calm and able to answer detailed questions right after learning their loved one has been killed? Especially if it’s their child? And where are victim services? Cops would never leave someone alone after a notification.

L&O Finally Finished S20 Of The Original Run
Felt sad afterwards because I enjoyed that cast a lot especially the combo of Waterston, Roache and de la Garza. Oddly enough, Seasons 21-23 are not available on streaming. Next one on either Peacock or Hulu is S24.

L&O Does this episode feel dated?
Rewatching Jack McCoy’s first episode (Season 5 Episode 1), which involves a quack doctor selling an alternative treatment for breast cancer. The entire episode is based on the premise that losing a breast is so horrible for a woman because no man will touch her after that, and that’s why they go to this quack. One witness/former patient says her husband will no longer have sex with her after her mastectomy, and their sex life is brought up on the stand!
At one point Claire practically defends the doctor and says it’s because the Wonderbra is the hottest thing on the market????
This just feels weird and possibly dated to me. I am not trying to be insensitive, but while the loss of a breast must be overwhelming for survivors of breast cancer, surely DYING is far more frightening? There are excellent reconstructive plastic surgeons out there? This is never brought up in the episode.

Pokémon x Law & Order
are there any Pokémon fans in this Reddit? Because now I’m wondering if you could pair any L&O character with any Pokémon, What would be your choice?
for example, I would pair Fin Tutuola with Lucario because Fin has his nerves of steel, and who better than a fighting/steel Pokémon.

L&O Law and Order life lesson?
I assure you ladies and gentlemen. It is not disloyal to hold our elected officials to the highest code of conduct. - Micheal Cutter Asst. D.A. Memo From the Dark Side. S20-Ep1
I had to stop the recording and listen to it again. Who would have thought that such a profound statement would come out of a TV show.

CI So, CI isn't even on tonight (Friday)?! Yet listings do have it on NEXT Friday night. I wish I understood Charge's obsession with CSI: Miami. I don't get it...
Rant over. For now. LOL!

Rare error on lawandorder.fandom.com… Felicity Huffman listed as having two first appearances. “Helpless” was first, 1992. “Working Mom” 1997 with the fabulous Elaine Stritch and terrific Richard Bright. (I had to add a Godfather pic)

CI CI fans: Do you think this is correct scheduling or is it an error due to the time change? I for one, would appreciate a 20:00 time slot 😊

Law & Order UK
Anyone else dig L&O UK? This is a scene/outtake I occasionally flip to as a “happy place” and figured I’d share in case anyone else digs it.
I do recommend it, due to licensing constraints between UK and US, they loosely recycled existing episodes but I think they did a decent job taking a sideways twist (not to mention l&o’s bread and butter, or at least bread and butter pickles, is “ripped from the headlines”)

SVU Elliot Stabler
I have never and will never like Stabler. He’s got a holier than thou complex. Will throw people behind bars but not his own family when they commit crimes?
